Dropzone- yes still 17s :). i need to make adjustments to these wheels.. i just threw them on for SOTU while my Vienna dishes sat in the trunk.. i had to do some breast cancer walk that morning and it was pouring rain by the time i got back around 1. definitely wasn't feeling another 2 hour drive in the rain to SOTU to only be there like an hour or two. i wish i went though, it looked so dope. hopefully there's an event i can make it out to in the future, but i was ____ed when i found out i had to do that walk that morning. fliphm00b 10-28-2010, 07:44 AM ^ me, david616, and cool buddy of his ran into the duu that set it all up and he said next year down by the bays i heard? hope to see ya there.. Uyles 10-28-2010, 07:56 AM if it's down in the Bay that'd be sick. i'd make it there for sure. the city is only about a half hour drive from sonoma (where i go to college), so it'll be more convenient. i wanted to go but i wasn't feeling it. the last event i went to was like...HF5. Jon 10-28-2010, 05:05 PM ROFL. How does that make me "cool kid status"? Never have I ever once said I was a cool kid or cool cause I got a PSR sticker. Call it how you want. Dude came on here saying his lip broke. I was saying it could have been prevented if the driver took more caution. Dude called me out and said the above previous posts. My car whack anyways. Never came on here claiming to be the "cool kid" or anything. It's a cracked lip big whoop. I've seen people that have gone through several lips throughout a year. When your lip is 1.5" off the ground it happens. Especially when it's brittle ABS plastic. It will only flex so far, then pop. I guess that means people who have dented their fenders, busted oil pans, flattened exhausts, etc. really suck at driving right? It comes with the territory--has nothing to do with driving skill. I'm sure he didn't position the car perpendicular to the entrance then try to attempt it. I try and give people a little more credit than that. Cool story bro? :P It's what I do. I've hung out with David multiple times and he's only ever been nice and wanted to be helpful to everyone. Not just saying that cause he's a friend, that's realtalk from what I know. That may very well be the case. However, based on his above performance, it doesn't seem that way. I don't know if it's just the stance scene or just the car scene in general, but the whole "I don't know you but I think I'm going to tell you what to do to your car and how to drive it because my car is better and I don't make mstakes" mentality is getting old. 04blckwrx 10-28-2010, 05:11 PM I can guarantee Chicago roads are worse, wassup? Aroddalobster 10-29-2010, 09:23 PM Soarer love. Been considering picking up one as a DD unless you enjoy paying for premium gas + 15mpg, i'd steer clear of the boat that is the SC for dd duties. impracticality of a s2k, size of a bentley. the long-a__ wheelbase makes it a lot easier to scrape midpipe/underbody. i do like obeewon's sc though, i had been doing the same kinda thing w/ my lip kit as he did. i like his zenki more though. and since we're all posting pics of cars we don't own, http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w264/OBEEWON/DSC01051.jpg Dilirious 10-30-2010, 08:18 AM Just sold my rota dpts yay, wonder how the mob will like the new wheels. till Wednesday for that update. bye lol http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v36/hotshotpinoy88/IMG_0871.jpg dropzone 10-30-2010, 08:51 AM I remember seeing your wheels posted up for a moment, good to see they sold and now you can move forward with the new setup. I'm still waiting for my coilovers to arrive. I'm undecided on wheel choice, with the car being my DD was looking at Torques, Linea Corse, Privat, Miro, WagenWheels. Probably won't happen til next year though, don't want to be bothered with the colder weather. That's because they go past the fender. The camber is to make the tire fit without rubbing and to keep the wheel from banging up the fender. Your wheels don't do that. They go up into the fender well. Like I said before, that's not what this thread is about. Otherwise we wouldn't need a separate thread for tucked tCs now would we? Also, when you're talking about this amount of camber, I don't know why you think that increases grip when you're taking part of the tread off the road. And you're right, this isn't Vortex. They would have ripped you to shreds for posting something off topic. Sweet cool deal I dunno about you guys but last i checked we drive a domestic version of the camry. Yes i said it, we don't have a sister in Japan that is right hand drive but it is what it is. In true JDM there's what is known as tsuraichi or to become one. That is the style that you are talking about, bit of camber with a flush transition between quarter panel and rim. What everyone considers as aggressive is an opinion some times you will read a car has an aggressive stance because of how outrageous the setup is. Or on a polar opposite of a stylish car you can have an aggressive stance based on grip and performance. This isn't slamming your vehicle this is for handling if it can get them an ounce better of grip they will do it. I had a discussion with the first body dropped GLI, know him in real life and went camping with him last year. Aggressive stance is all perspective, he considers his stance to be "cute" because he chose to sit his wheels upright. I've never heard of a "cute" stance and you won't find it out there on the internet. Get over it there are no clear lines between what is aggressive and what isn't there are just 3 styles... poked flush and tucked. So if your VIP status and have your rims cock eyed on the inside or hella flush with that same camber sitting the arches on the rim lip cool deal it's your style. BTW found out hellaflush came from california... go figure? The fact remains, this thread still isn't for tucked tCs. BlkTC 11-09-2010, 12:55 AM go talk to iheartzombies.. his car is probably lower or just as low as yours, but has camber with wheels and fitment NOT SUITABLE FOR THIS THREAD!! hence, the lack of pictures of his awesome car IN this thread.. now... just kinda go to page 243, go to the very bottom, and delete that post you posted. <3 weeeeeeeeee BlkTC 11-09-2010, 12:59 AM *you're sorry i had too. lol carry on *to LOL :icon_juggle: BlkTC 11-09-2010, 01:04 AM damnit, okay i have to post ONE MORE TIME!! jon, can you edit that first post for noobs like this guy.. just edit it so it says, "THIS THREAD IS FOR TC'S WITH WHEELS SO WIDE CAMBER AND STRETCHED TIRES ARE NECESSARY FOR THE WHEELS TO FIT THE CAR.. P.S. NOT FOR TC'S ON AIR DUMPED TO THE GROUND WITH SUNKEN BATTLESHIP WHEELS" Jon 11-09-2010, 01:23 AM Maybe the OP needs width-to-offset requirements. For example, for a 7" wide wheel, your [effective] offset must be ≤ 25mm. davedavetC 11-09-2010, 01:46 AM dwalker i mean your somewhat local to me, and i dont like to put down locals but your wrong, if you wanna see aggressive fitment i'll be more then happy to throw my AME's back on for a day and meet up with you so you can get a real life view on some wrong fitment. but seriously man just because youre on air and the wheels are cambered like whoa doesnt make it aggressive, its tucked. just like you said "Get over it there are no clear lines between what is aggressive and what isn't there are just 3 styles... poked flush and tucked." except the sheer fact that there is VERY clear lines and youre on the far side with tucked and this thread is for the far side with poked and flush. your car is cool and all but its just not built for this thread.... maybe one day, but not today, and mostlikely not tomorrow either. Dwalkertc 11-09-2010, 02:04 AM except the sheer fact that there is VERY clear lines and youre on the far side with tucked and this thread is for the far side with poked and flush. I understand that maybe I posted on here a bit early and yes I'm still sitting on thin rims at 8.5" I just finished getting the car drivable again and am not pulling the chassis off so I can be the first unibody drop, saying that isn't an aggressive stance when you have no where to put the wheels but in your well after tubbed is nuts And before i get flamed at for wanting to go mangle my frame I lay pinch now. If I was on coils, i wouldn't have this problem, but I'm on s-tech's. But here's my question. Obviously, I will need to roll; but do I need to pull as well? From the information that I have found, I just need to roll the rears bc the fronts are already "rolled" from factory. I figured this post would be better here than the "wheel fitment thread". Hope to post pics on here in a week or so... so I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance. yellowxhoodie 11-18-2010, 12:55 AM Where did you hear that the fronts are rolled from the factory...? I'm not too concerned about rubbing... just want to know if i need to get the rears pulled on top of rolling them or if i'll have to modify the front fenders (not referring to liners bc they go without being said) at all. I guess I could wait to find out once the wheels come in, but I figured I would try to find out before-hand. Thanks again. yellowxhoodie 11-18-2010, 01:40 AM before you go messing with your fenders and body and everything you should buy coilovers. kind of a necessity if you want to go the stanced route.
