It's a cracked lip big whoop. I've seen people that have gone through several lips throughout a year. When your lip is 1.5" off the ground it happens. Especially when it's brittle ABS plastic. It will only flex so far, then pop. I guess that means people who have dented their fenders, busted oil pans, flattened exhausts, etc. really suck at driving right? It comes with the territory--has nothing to do with driving skill. I'm sure he didn't position the car perpendicular to the entrance then try to attempt it. I try and give people a little more credit than that.

unless you enjoy paying for premium gas + 15mpg, i'd steer clear of the boat that is the SC for dd duties. impracticality of a s2k, size of a bentley. the long-a__ wheelbase makes it a lot easier to scrape midpipe/underbody. i do like obeewon's sc though, i had been doing the same kinda thing w/ my lip kit as he did. i like his zenki more though.

I remember seeing your wheels posted up for a moment, good to see they sold and now you can move forward with the new setup. I'm still waiting for my coilovers to arrive. I'm undecided on wheel choice, with the car being my DD was looking at Torques, Linea Corse, Privat, Miro, WagenWheels. Probably won't happen til next year though, don't want to be bothered with the colder weather.

I was looking at some Linea Corse but they just didn't have our bolt pattern for the one I wanted and it only came in 19 so no go there.

wagen wheels have been on my mind ever since i tried ordering 17x7.5 miro MO2's earlier this year. im just not a fan of 18's.

ill be running 17x8+25 for the front and for the rears ill end up throwing an 8mm-10mm spacer. i dont want anything crazy, center will be powdercoated on mine.

as far as drop goes im going to be placing my order for stance coils in the next week or two once i get rid of all these state fines i have.

Ohh and it should be said these rims are supreme temporary, getting Volk 3 pieces for next years season and going 17x11 in the rears with 17x10.5 or 17x10 in the front on 20 series tires. As well as needing a camber arm so I can just flop them sideways.

I also know the 20 series are way too small for daily driving, those rims will be for trailer in and trailer out. The 18s with 40s will be for driving...

Do you see how his tire tread and wheel lip are visible from the rear of the car? That's because they go past the fender. The camber is to make the tire fit without rubbing and to keep the wheel from banging up the fender. Your wheels don't do that. They go up into the fender well. Like I said before, that's not what this thread is about. Otherwise we wouldn't need a separate thread for tucked tCs now would we?

Also, when you're talking about this amount of camber, I don't know why you think that increases grip when you're taking part of the tread off the road. :confused:

I understand most euro stance enthusiasts are aiming for there lip of the rim to sit as close to the fender as possible. Sweet cool deal I dunno about you guys but last i checked we drive a domestic version of the camry. Yes i said it, we don't have a sister in Japan that is right hand drive but it is what it is.

In true JDM there's what is known as tsuraichi or to become one. That is the style that you are talking about, bit of camber with a flush transition between quarter panel and rim.

What everyone considers as aggressive is an opinion some times you will read a car has an aggressive stance because of how outrageous the setup is. Or on a polar opposite of a stylish car you can have an aggressive stance based on grip and performance. This isn't slamming your vehicle this is for handling if it can get them an ounce better of grip they will do it.

I had a discussion with the first body dropped GLI, know him in real life and went camping with him last year. Aggressive stance is all perspective, he considers his stance to be "cute" because he chose to sit his wheels upright. I've never heard of a "cute" stance and you won't find it out there on the internet. Get over it there are no clear lines between what is aggressive and what isn't there are just 3 styles... poked flush and tucked. So if your VIP status and have your rims cock eyed on the inside or hella flush with that same camber sitting the arches on the rim lip cool deal it's your style.

BTW found out hellaflush came from california... go figure?

Maybe the OP needs width-to-offset requirements. For example, for a 7" wide wheel, your [effective] offset must be ≤ 25mm.

Camber increases grip, that is what makes it aggressive. Thats like saying this isn't an aggressive stance and this is hella tucked. Honestly mods are destroying this site why it has been dieing over the last several months:

youre getting it mixed up, its an aggressive drop, not stance.

stance and aggressive fitment fall into place when the wheels AND drop are working in unison to great an aggressive stance.

just because your on air (which is cheating btw :P ) and you can slam your car to the ground doesnt make it aggressive, there are people out there that are driving their cars daily on coils like that, but if their wheels dont fit right (or wrong depending on who you talk to) then the car is not stanced.

you got the drop, now post when you get the wheels. its a multi stage process.

I'm at the phase where I want to lay frame then lay body all I am concerned with is being the first with it done and that is where I will throw my effort at for this winter. When that is done you will see the fenders flared with rubber lying flush along the new body lines on a nice set of wide rims. This car isn't a daily if that was the case I wouldn't be thinking of hacking up the uni. I was on coils, ones I could perform on and move full camber adjustment dampening, loved the things air was a means to get lower and that is all this car is about.

I did a quick search of this thread - looking to see if anyone was pulling off a bit o' poke with 17x8 +35 wheels. No luck. According to the nebstermeister's chart 25mm will only bring the wheels to flush. Anyone running spacers bigger than 25mm in here?

So i just purchased a set of 18x9.5 et 38 w/ stretched 225/40/18's on all corners. If I was on coils, i wouldn't have this problem, but I'm on s-tech's. But here's my question. Obviously, I will need to roll; but do I need to pull as well? From the information that I have found, I just need to roll the rears bc the fronts are already "rolled" from factory. I figured this post would be better here than the "wheel fitment thread". Hope to post pics on here in a week or so... so I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Alright, I just talked to a guy who used to run the exact same setup and got the answers. Thanks for the input though. Apparently s-techs are as low as i can go on a dd w/ minimal rubbing...

One could be on TRD springs, with enough weight in the back, and not slowing for a dip or a bump, you're gonna think again about having the fenders rolled. The fronts are "rolled" from factory, but doesn't cut it for a wide wheel/tire setup.

So, out of curiosity, who all has removed their fender liners? What are all of the adverse effects you've experienced? Just more dirt?

i have had no finder liner for the last 2 years, only thing i've experienced is a crap load of dirt in the engine bay and small little pebbles stuck in between the headlight and the fender.

the rocks in the headlight thing is so ____ing annoying.

^^^yes! freaken rocks are all around mine too...and then one headlight fogged up...all fixed now after baking it tho

everything just gets dirty a little quicker, not really a big deal. Also, wouldnt recommend running no fender liners if you have a CAI.

I'm running Dezod S1, so that's not really a concern. As far as the liners go, yes, they are intact.

as soon as possible, haha. Just gotta find the time to finish putting it back to stock. The coils are already long gone though, sorry.

Need a quick response! I'm at the shop now. In the rear, did any of you guys have to mod the rear bumper/bolt at where it mounts to the rear quarter panel? I'm going to be running 18x9.5 et 38 w/ 225/40/18. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure a lot of people shaved that bolt down.

I had to trim mine, its being held on with zip ties

I run a cai fine, but that's because Cali has nice weather.

^same here, however when it's raining a pretty hefty amount i try to avoid driving it.
like right now it's pouring and ____ is flooding, so i'm not down to drive my car.

i also run a cai w/ no fender liner, no problems so far, except my filter is ridiculously dirty. not liking the not so cali weather in norcal right now tho.
