I got a set on order in SBC 18x9.5+38
Damn that Z looks good. Everytime I see those wheels on a car I love them more and more

nice, from who?
sucks for the guys that got em from the first group buy though, haha.
now theres gonna be a bunch more floating around out there.

mmmpshh
02-07-2011, 04:17 AM
^ Yea... but there is only 4 of us I believe that got them this time around. And we got em from Dezod

Jasper Ash
02-07-2011, 04:21 AM
Me, Spd_Rcr, and I think one other guy picked up a set from the Dezod group buy. Too bad they aren't as rare as they once were in that sizing/bolt pattern. But legit nonetheless.

mmmpshh
02-07-2011, 04:22 AM
Well I believe Dezod posted that most of the 5x100's went to the subies anyway...

digital_assassin
02-07-2011, 04:23 AM
30 people out there with a split between tC's and subies = still rare. Nice wheels fellas!

mmmpshh
02-07-2011, 04:25 AM
This is what was posted in the thread about them

I can tell you that of all of the 18x9.5 sold, only 4 went to Scion guys.

Thats just from the run that Dezod did though. I dont know how many in the first run with the other company

FlintMica2005
02-07-2011, 04:27 AM
with touge factory i think like 28 sets were made?? maybe less maybe more

yellowxhoodie
02-07-2011, 04:42 AM
I think only 4 sets went to tC guys the first time too.

I had 1 (Chicos now)
Marcial got 1
and David got 2

yellowxhoodie
02-07-2011, 04:45 AM
and TF only ordered 15 sets for the group buy, dont know if they ever ordered more.

Jasper Ash
02-07-2011, 07:00 AM
So 30 sets out there? Does that mean we can post in the "rare" wheel thread even though four SL guys will be posting up the same wheels? Lol

What size tires are you guys with the second GB for RPF's going to run?

What size tires are you guys with the second GB for RPF's going to run?

Well Im gonna be trying to get a lil bit of traction so for the front Im gonna be running 235/40/18 Nitto NT05's. for the rear prob. same size or 225's in the nitto Neo Gens

Jasper Ash
02-07-2011, 08:04 PM
I'm still torn between 215/40 and 225/40.

Uyles
02-07-2011, 08:09 PM
215's if you want the same fitment as mine. i'm still planning on pushing my wheels out more with spacers (at least the front, already have 15mm rears), that's why the stretch is coming in handy. if you're not going to be spacing the wheels out more, you can probably roll with 225's.
215's are just going to cause you less problems down the road if you want to space out your wheels.

Jasper Ash
02-07-2011, 08:11 PM
^ True. I guess it all comes down to the best deal. But those Nankangs are CHEAP! I still can't find a shop willing to put 215's on a 9.5" wheel though...

Uyles
02-07-2011, 08:42 PM
yeah my nankangs were cheap as hell. hahaha. it took me like 15-20 calls but i finally got it.

215 on a 9.5 is baby stuff, it took me around 12-15 shops to get a 215 on a 10 hahahha.

I'm gonna be putting 225/35 on a 10

Yea there's alot of shops that won't stretch tires but I finally found a shop that did it but It was about an hour from were I live. 215/40/18

This guy knows whats up.

I'm gonna be putting 225/35 on a 10

Dave, you sold the AME's? What is the new setup or is it disclosed to the public? 225/35's will look nice on those tens. Can't wait to see it.

I put 225's on my tens as well.

davedavetC

Yea I sold the AME's in December. The new set is hush hush cus I don't have them yet and I don't want to jynx myself

Jasper Ash
02-07-2011, 10:50 PM
215 on a 10? You guys are nuts. I'll take baby steps...

But I think I'll run 215/40. I spoke with a shop about 40 minutes from me and they're confident that they can do it.

davedavetC
02-07-2011, 11:12 PM
I'm doin 225/35 if I was gonna do 215's on a 10 they would be 40's

Jasper did u ask them how much they were going to charge you? Cause I didn't and when I got there he said $80 to mount and balance and that didn't even include switching over my tire pressure sensors but I did it cause I already had drove an hour and he didn't wanna budge to kick down the price, he also wanted to charge me like$5 to dismount my old tires and like another $10 for the sensors for each wheel, so I was like F$ck that! I'm good just mount and balance and didn't cross my mind to ask cus I was excited that I had found a place that would do it

Jasper Ash
02-08-2011, 12:37 AM
^ Nope. I expect to pay around $100. And I won't mind if they do a good job. What you got charged doesn't seem half bad, though.

tC-S08
02-08-2011, 01:02 AM

r u talking to me? i posted some pixs of the tire stretch and if your talking about full car pixs not till i throw my function and forms back on cus i had to take my car in to the dealer ship so my warranty would cover my wheel bearing, caliper bracket, axle, and the 17mm bolts i believe that hold the caliper brackets and since the day i got my car back i havent had a chance to throw them on

i have a dilemma guys.... i have the money to buy my dream wheels now but if i buy them i would be cutting myself short on cash for other things.....

should i suck it up and buy them ($1700-2000 for them) or should i cheap out and get Rotas ($900) and use the money for other stuff....

Jon
02-16-2011, 11:43 AM
I'm in the same situation. Baller wheels vs. getting my car exactly the way I want it (minus wheels).

davedavetC
02-16-2011, 11:52 AM
the other stuff isnt so much car stuff, its money i need for my move to georgia, but i still have 2-3 more pay checks comin from work that'll be enough for that.... but do i want extra money or scraping buy, i have been looking for this set of wheels in sizes close to this one for a year now.... since before i bought my AME's and this is why i got the AME's because i couldnt find these....

mmmpshh
02-16-2011, 01:27 PM

davedavetC
02-16-2011, 01:54 PM
Well the break down is this if I get tge wheels I want I'd have $600 left over plus my $1000 check this week and next week lol or if I got the cheap wheels (rotas) I'd have $1400 left over plus my checks.... I think I'm gonna go with my dream wheels...

18x8.5 +12 and 18x10 +21 lol

So cutting studs is ok, I have been seeing and hearing sooo many mixed things about this.

and SEXY wheels man they are approved

I never really post... But I'm feeling a little ballsy... Be easy.

Here's the situation and my intentions. The wheels are 18x8 and I can't think of the offset at the moment... I'm a little "enlightened". I'm running 225/40s and I'm going to 215/35s sometime this month. When I run the narrower tire, I'll max out my coils and probably end up removing perchs front and rear. I'll also need to get spacers all around. Fenders are already rolled so no scrubbing except in the front because of the meaty tires. Color is waveline pearl these pics were just edited to look badass.

PS-Don't mind my cardomain link in my sig... It is way outdated.

^ The OG's are gonna get you for not posting wheel specs including offset, and rear profile shots that show how "aggressive" the wheel stance is.

davedavetC
02-17-2011, 11:48 AM
not aggressive just low.

yellowxhoodie
02-17-2011, 01:44 PM
unless its a super low offset, i dont see how a 8" wide wheel would be aggressive on a tC.

ShadowReeper
02-17-2011, 05:34 PM
I know, just wanted to show you guys a little progress. No it's not flush or aggressive at the moment but it is low. I can't go any lower right now until I get narrower tires. I plan to be sitting aggressive as ____ I just wanted to show a little before pics so that when I post later you'll see how far it came. Just wanted to know what you guys would think of the car in its current state.

Konig Lace 18x8 +35 so it's a very weak setup. I was going to put on some spacers to remedy that. Thanks for the input.

uuhhhhuhuhuhhhhhuhhhhhhuhhh

Holy ____ I wouldn't go that wide if your not even familiar with offsets...

Your going to need some major cutting, pulling, rolling, trimming of the fenders.

You could go with 17x10.5 et20 rear. That would be a perfect started setup, since all you would need is a decent roll/pull, and some trimming of clips.

Skeeeett
02-23-2011, 12:54 AM
just my opinion, why would you do somthing your not sure about..and if your not sure about anything i would not throw some 11.5's on there if its your first time trying to do fitment...geez..just start off with the normal 17x9.5's or 18x9.5s to start with.

^I think SoCal is running 215/40 on his 17x10 miros. 35 should be doable.

I've seen it done, wanted to go with 215/35/17's all around, but they are wayyyy out of my price range.

I dont really wanna poke too much or camber at -4° :? reminds me of mexican low riders with the wire frame wheels and extended axels back in the 90s...

02-25-2011, 11:31 AM
nah, i work at a dealership so im gonna try to have ones of the techs just mount them....

i got new radiator hoses in so i might pay to have those put on and just have him mount the tires while hes doing that...

Hayseed
02-25-2011, 12:17 PM
What size tires will you be running? Is that what's stopping anyone from mounting them?

davedavetC

its not that noone will do it, its just that town fair tire wont because i didnt buy the tires with them.... but im getting it done at work today

Ok I gotcha. That's cool man! I'm excited to see what it looks like. Wish I could afford nice rims but no... Gonna order some xxr's and be ballin on a budget

02-25-2011, 03:12 PM
Hayseed which xxr rims are you going with?

Hayseed
02-25-2011, 03:54 PM
I'm debating between 527's in 9.75 wide and 526's in 10 wide. Also debating between 17's or 18's. I'll decide once I get my tax return.

tC-S08
02-25-2011, 05:09 PM
Yea Those are pretty clean I would have bought the xxr527 if I would have known before I bought my xxr522 but oh well I'm still good with what I got. These brands have pretty good size and offsets for just the right price, especially if your Balling on a Budget!"

Hayseed
02-25-2011, 05:14 PM
I like the 522's and their price but I couldnt find the offset I wanted without having to run a 5x114 adapter... But the 527's and 526's have mean offsets at et20/25. I'll probably run 5mm spacers up front and 8mm in the rear

tC-S08
02-25-2011, 07:13 PM
Yea I Was iffy about running 5x114 adapter on these rims I wanted and also the shop told me they wouldn't recommend it, that's the only thing about the xxr 522 the offset isn't all that crazy, but I'm about to throw 8mm spacers on the rear and still debating if i should throw 5mm spacers up front

davedavetC
02-25-2011, 07:26 PM
Running adapters is the same as running spacers. There's nothing wring with them.

Hayseed
02-25-2011, 07:32 PM
Yeah adapters are pretty much the same thing as spacers. They're just a pain to put on.

You've been running them all around on your tC (which is your daily?) for a loooonng time now, right? No complaints?

Yea I've been running them for 4 years now on and off (both spacers and adapters) with no problems at all.
