With an email like "rotasucks@yahoo.com" , all your posts just bashing people who rock replica wheels, and not contributing anything worthy to the forum you should be banned for trolling.

No one knows you and no one cares what you think about their wheels.

This guy comes out as mister KGB of Fake Wheels. Realize that 1. People will have their own *PERSONAL* opinions and 2. There are a million better things to really argue for. Hell go into politics or something but seriously, just leave this alone. Its not the end of the ____ing world to rock rotas. Who cares. Just makes your baller wheels look that much baller.

In my opinion... Wheel are wheels. They are all round. What matters is how you rock them. I could care less about how much a wheel costs, I could care less about the name of a wheel. People need to get over themselves. I have drag wheels. Thats what I can afford. If any of you that are up on your pedastools want to donate the money for me some expensive wheels, go ahead. Ill probably take that money and buy something else with it.

Mods: please change the title to "Legit aggressive wheels stance pics"

These replica wheels are an infestation, that needs to be deceased and terminated by all means.

"I dont have money to buy some nice legit wheel" is what they all say. If cant afford them, dont buy it. Dont give business to those that dont deserve it.

Let me ask something, Do you want to use your hard earned money on crap?
You guys have failed to answer my simple question. Let me re-ask, Do you want to use your hard earned money on crap?
Wow... you dare compare your scion tc with a lexus? full of arrogance. You get what you pay for my friend.
I know what i said may have upset many of you, but what i said are valid points. My intentions were not to force people not to buy replica wheel, but to spread awareness about this issue.
If you think about it, it is actually a disease in which no none of us can control. By spreading this knowledge we can cure it and rid the replica out.
This is not nonsense. I do hope that people will spread this knowledge to their friends and family.

Some people on this forum may say " nice wheels," but in the back of their mind "oh its just some replica wheel."

For me, I want wheels that i can actually be proud of.
I have no idea why you brought up the lexus vs your scion tc.

Replica will never be dope. I guarantee you.
Honestly, the whole "can't afford real wheels" thing is stupid. If you don't know how to save money, then maybe you should learn

Dont support replica wheels. Its all im asking. You will be doing yourself a favor.
I want to know why everyone is for replica wheels? I thought i would at least get some supporters.
Looking at the wheeldude website, rota grids are 1 thousand. If you save like 200-300 more you can get yourself quality wheels like enkei; brand new! You saved up 9/10ths already, is it too hard to save up the other 1/10th?
There are a variety of wheels out there for the taking and at a reasonable price. You saved up most for it, why not just continue to save to get them?

For those of you that buy wheels for looks/attention, do you think grids get more attention or volk te37? or torques vs work emotion cr kai?

Please dont support replica wheel.
Ban? i have done nothing wrong. I only stated what is true. But all i see is people ignoring the problem and are against what i believe.

Is there anyone out there for real wheels?

You have to recalibrate the sensor. It uses rotational mass I believe to determine if one of your tires is low on pressure. And since you changed the wheels, of course it's gonna come on. There's instructions on resetting it in the owner's manual.

Disagree on the year introduced, 2007 was the first year of TPMS on the tC, I had a Spec package and was even on the 16" steelies.

6/10 - EDIT: TPMS sensors on the wheels started with the '07.

If you reset it properly it won't come back on. It will calibrate to the new wheel/tire set up.

thanks Jon for your insight. Those other people just weren't reading my previous post correctly I guess lol. The car didn't come with a Owner's manual though, is there a site, or page you can refer me to in order to completely disable it properly?

Jon
06-10-2011, 05:31 PM
I didn't feel like going outside to get my manual, but I found these steps online.

The tire pressure monitor detects any changes in the tire inflation pressure. Therefore, it must initialize and store it in its memory if the tires or wheels have been replaced or the tires have been rotated. you can re-initialize the system by following these steps:

1) Check and make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct pressure.

2) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. If the low tire pressure warning light comes on, push and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch (in the glove box) until the warning light turns off and then release the switch.

3) Now press and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch until the low tire pressure warning light blinks three times.

4) Initialization is *not* completed until driving at the vehicle speed of 19mph or over for more than one hour. the tire pressure monitoring starts when initialization is completed.

I think the argument is when did the TPMS sensors (that are attached to the valve stem) come out on the tC.

jon the little exclamation mark that shows up if your tire is low?

Everyone has the light, but how the car gets the info is different. In the 05-06 it's measured through the ABS system by sensing differences in rotational speed. In the 07+, there are 4 modules mounted on each valve stem on the wheels inside the tires.

Yea in the notes it stated recommended to be used with wheel spacers up to 15mm, but I drive my car very far everyday so I was worried with the amount of spins I had just wasn't sure if it's safe so I wanted to ask for some help just cause for some reason I thought I would have had more spins with these 45mm studs. So then I should b fine running these long distance with the amount of turns rite?(6-7turns)

Stocks r 7"...honestly its gonna be hard to say..some tires r bigger than others..even if they are the same sizes.. I. E. I run 225/35 Falken 452..if i would run the same size in Federals, it wouldnt look the same since Federals come a bit bulkier...best thing i can say is..have the shop try on a few tires before u decide on what u want...also roll ur fenders if u want more tire n no rubbing.

Question for you guys

I am looking at rota grids, either 17x9 +42 in gold, with a 215/40 or 18x9.5 +38 in gold, on a 215 or 225/40. I am wanting to be flush with 0 poke, and as little camber as needed in the rear. Maybe a 8.5 would be better suited for this?

Im torn between 17s and 18s due to the fact that my FF type 2s may give me a fender to tire gap with a stretched tire..I love the look it has now, just wish I could push out more (rolling on stocks)

Ive got stock tire size, tein s techs, and looking to achieve hella fushiness. Ive decided that hub-centric is the absolute only way to go so the inchibas are the target. but i have three questions 1. what size should i go with, most people say 15mm Front 20MM rear(no estimations here please only people with personal experience) Ive figured at about 25mm rubbing would begin to occur. second what is the difference between v1 and v2? third will i have to make any modifications to the stock studs.

Go as wide as you can with a low offset. I promise you - you will need it. If you go with a 17x9 +42 you'll need spacers. Even with the 18x9.5 +38 you'll need spacers in the rear but the front will be flush.

Which coilovers have you ran? The reason I have a bit of a bounce on my B&G coilovers is that I requested increased spring rates(8K front, 10K rear), they only had the front springs available. Currently on 8K for the front without getting the dampers revalved because they said the damper could handle a +/- 2K spring rate change, well I don't think it's doing it as well as I thought they would. I havent checked on the preload since i've had them installed so i might adjust that before going to the 6K springs they usually come with. The rears are 8K and are perfect. I think it's your coilover selection that you need to research on.

Ordered my wheels. Specs will be 17 x 9.5 +25. What tire size do you think I should get? I was thinking 215/40/17.

^Not hating on you personally,

but for those of you questioning the spec rule, this is a perfect example.

If everyone listed everything, users with questions could easily browse the thread and see visual examples of setups, especially since diff. brand tires stretch diff, etc.

Then we wouldnt have all the what size this and what size that questions on every page.

Or you could just go here:

http://www.tyrestretch.com/ or http://www.willtheyfit.com/

Not trying to be a smart ___ but there are specific databases specifically meant for tire stretch and offset.

exactly.

this is a SCION forum, people come here to learn and talk about SCIONS.

(just an example) I could care less how a 18x9.5 +35 fits on a 240SX or and Audi or whatever if i dont own one, every car has several diff variables that affect what will and will not fit.

But you can use logic and put in the stock wheel specs and then put in the wheel specs you want to compare them too. Its not meant to show what it looks like on your car but how it compares to your current wheel set up.

thats great and all, but you need to take into consideration how much room there is in the wheel well, suspension clearance, etc. Which is why its nice to see specific examples of specific cars.

Or you could just not be a douche and take the extra 2 seconds to add the information that was originally requested. If you don't want people to "copy" your stuff then don't post in this forum as there are 100 other ones for self absorbed people that don't care about the movement.

Oh I'm sorry was I that transparent? No I'm not nerd raging. I'm just tired of having a question and having to look through a million forums when the answer should have been right there. Attitudes like yours are really the problem. You have absolutely nothing positive to say so then why say it?

Then you guys get p1ssed off when some "noob" asks a question like you are the gods of all things car related. I've seen people insult the newer guys to a point where they don't log on the site anymore. All I was trying to say was help people out.

No I understand. I'm just trying to show people some effective tools and how to use them.

There's no substitute for experience. After you've done it once, the fitment calculation is a piece of cake. The only issue I have is people who want information spoon fed to them without putting in any of their own effort. And why people try and keep specs/mods a secret is beyond me.

Understandable. Just remember some of these young guys on here don't have the money to buy a wheel only for it not to fit. It's a one shot deal for a lot of these guys. Being able to look at a combination on another car greatly helps them.

This.
What is the fun in having someone online tell you what to do? Go out there and figure stuff out for yourself. Thats where you earn experience, not in, as jon said, having it spoon fed to you.

Another thing too, if we were to all put our specs up, it doesnt change the problem of having to search through the 400 pages of posts.

Lol bignoog you're the one with the attitude.

Something I've seen in other forums work too is to have a pic thread where users post pics and specs. Then there is a discussion thread where users discuss about that thread.

I had no experience the first time I bought aggressive wheels. Hell those were the first aftermarket wheels I had bought period. But I made sure I looked around and did a lot of reading before I purchased.

There are too many common wheel setups for people to claim to be completely lost. If I could count the number of times I've seen "18x9.5" posted on this forum you'd be shocked. With all that unoriginality around here there's no excuse to ask if wheel "X" will fit. If you use that as your baseline, you can use the fitment calculators to find out what's possible.

Anyways, opinions on "stretchy tires". Searched and couldnt find the results that I was looking for. Deciding between the Federals and Nankangs but open to other tire experiences too.

I'll field this general question.

Both Nankangs and Federals are affordable. Nankangs stretch easier but are also narrower than the Federals. Federals run a bit wider, but stretching ability varies according to size.
