The bumper is fitting like that because it got backed into and is going to the body shop this week while I'm on vacation. I like my two tone.

OhHelloChris
09-03-2011, 06:06 AM
Eh, bodykit is alright. I mean I dislike the skirts and the rear, but the front I can live with. The fitment is horrible so it gets annoying. Scraping the front bumper or the skirts kinda sucks cause I don't know if I will like break it haha.

^ When is who getting coilovers?

chicotunner07
09-03-2011, 08:50 PM
^my thoughts exactly! the front bumper looks good (minus the vent near the wheels) but the skirts and rear i would swap for oem lip kit.

i think stance can make almost any car look good, even with body kits.

I like the vent. Looks similar to a bumper they make for the S15.

OhHelloChris
09-03-2011, 11:11 PM
Lol, So yesterday I got rejected for wheel alignment cause of my side skirts. I'm hoping my buddy at toyota can hook me up with an alignment haha.

I am still deciding what to switch to. I like the five axis front lip but I also do like both the oem front lip and the rs1. The oem full lip kit, I don't really like the rear and skirts much, but I do like the RS1 full lip kit. The five axis front lip is growing on me though haha. I might buy the RS1 then sometime later on get the five axis. The kit is already getting paint cracks, the skirts are getting loose. I should be changing the look maybe by early next year. I'm still keeping the rpf1s though, I love the finish haha.

From my experience here in L.A. Shops like firestone, Big O Tires, JustTires will dismount the tire. The problem is they will not install a stretch tire. U will have to find a mom&pop tire shop for that.

A click on the link will get the rest of the pics I uploaded. Still haven't test fit the front, just wanted to check the pattern so quickly put one on back, the tolerance is close for the bolt hole to the lugs to keep as much metal since the pattern is close the the centerbore.

question for u guys though i sure u guys have seen my car in pics ive posted n all of that n as of now im on 17x9 et 28 all the way around but my question is how much work am i going to have to do to make 18x10 et 35 wheels fit with out having a bunch of issues such as fender buckling rubbing is ok with me as long as its not cutting into the tire or jus a redic amount of rubbing i knowsome ppl running something similar to it n other people have run 18x10 n 17x10 as well any help would be great as always :)

CleanFMtC
09-13-2011, 08:27 PM
I think the highest offset you can run on a 10" wide wheel is 30 because of rubbing issues on the inside. so you would have to run a spacer or get wheels with different specs.

NYNCTC
09-13-2011, 09:25 PM
Custom fenders is the answer my friend. You can run whatever the hell you want and not run extreme camber or shred your fenders and tires by just widening your fenders. Personally, I would do it if you plan to anything 18x10 +20 or lower and wider and plan to run it for a loooooong time.

Yep, the inside is a problem. I have 18x9.5 +37 and they barely fit on the inside. I think 1 or 2 more mm and they would rub the control arm.

So, with the same wheel specs you have, how unreasonable would running a 25-30mm spacer in the rear have been jasper?

Jasper Ash

Can be done on camber. I was at -3* in the pic directly above and on a 17mm spacer making it +21. I'm sure you could get away with it on stock camber. Maybe a little wee bit of pull worst care scenario.

Those RS are worth a little over half his asking price. You can pick up a set of B grade wheels for $1300. Spend $600 on new lips, $200 on bolts, $200 on paint, and you're only at $2300. If they were BBS original lips/bolts, then $4k isn't outrageous (wheels used to retail 1k each). But more than likely they aren't.

Slamming also depends on your suspension setup..smaller tire sizes on wider wheels are because people want the stretched tire look. I've seen slammed cars with meaty tires as well as stretched.

For those of you on really aggressive 18" setups, such as 18x9.5 +10 or an aggressive 10" wheel... how do you keep the rear so low without scraping the lip of the wheel on the inner quarter panel? I maxed out stock camber and was scraping lip on fender. I tried to reduce camber and the tire sits on the fender. Any input is appreciated. All I can think of doing is running a 35 series tire or going full stiff. Maybe even a flare.. Anyway, here's how it's going to sit for a while until I figure it out.

^ Thanks. The reason I went for them is because I get a 'Euro' vibe from them. I'm a big fan of VW stance. My original plan was to run little to no camber all around and just poke out the rears but without raising the car it proves to be challenging.

Jasper: independent rear suspension + wide/low offset wheels + slammage = more negative camber.

I guess I'm in the market for camber arms now...

^ And when the rear suspension isn't compressed like that, you actually had a bit of poke didn't you?

Edit: Yeah you did. I just looked at your Canibeat feature. How did you get that little rear flare? All I seem to end up doing is pulling.

Damn man. This reminds me how perfect your stance was for the tC. It's not low to the point where it looks broken or non-functional. Perfect. <3

My buddy rolls and flares fenders. I definitely needed it to be able to tuck wheel on inclines.
I wasn't satisfied with the height yet during that shoot.

I'd really like to know the secret to a flare like that. I'll be running pretty much exactly the same specs as Jasper (sorry bud) so I am curious as well.

^ lol you'll probably have me missing those wheels more than I already do. I don't like my Rotiforms as much as I liked my RPF-1s sometimes. I think I miss the bling of SBC. Lolz

My bud heated the fender from the outside, then rolled the Eastwood at an angle on the fender.

So did he just completely flatten the rear lip of the fender? No cutting/grinding part of it off first? I will need to do mine soon.

He just rolled them flat, then flared them heated.

I see, I was wondering how people handled that 1/4" or so flat lip of the rear fender.

flaring is done with a roller as spoony said, just heat the outside of the fender up and angle the roller and roll the edge of the fender with the roller where you want to flare it, i would suggest not going straight to a crazy angle but keep it moderate to see if you like it or not, overly flared fenders are ugly imo. then dont change the angle of it and do the same to the other side.

I'm planning on getting 17x10 et 25 rim do i need any camber bolts or spacers? I have rolled fenders and drop on racelands.

Jerriks, Socals past set-up, and my current wheel specs are 17x10 +25 and unless u don't want to rub like crazy or buckle, it'd be smart to have camber bolts. And depending on what rim you get, you may need spacers

I was thinking of just picking up some stp1 and I wanted to know what else I needed other then the rims. wheres a good place to order some camber bolts? and I would assume I need it all around right.

Jasper Ash

^ A lot of people are very happy with these. Just order two sets so you can max out front camber if needed.

For the rear you'll need aftermarket camber arms to go past the high end of -3 camber. I can't recommend a good brand on that because I don't use them at the moment.

would I need the rear ones just to run that set up?

btw thanks for the replies guys

no camber bolts nor camber arms needed to go past -3 camber in the rear unless u wanna go past -4.5. You'll need at least 3mm spacers up front for STP1s or else your caliperswill get chewed up. Check my thread to see the fitment...

soo all I pretty much need is camber bolts in the front and 3mm spacers in front and back?

Back is with Falkens, the racelands arent that stiff so im iffy about going lower. Fenders still need to be rolled still on 0 camber. With the KDW's im not sure im going to go lower in the front.... need advice this is my first stance setup!

i_pogi - definitely you need a spacer. i just put 10mm front for miro stp1 - 17x10 tire is 215/40/17 on it.

SoFloTC, it looks like you're running more stretch in the rear. I think you'll need more stretch up front.

tc913

def need more stretch in the front if you want to turn the wheel if you're gonna go lower

Hayseed
09-28-2011, 09:42 PM
My guess is you want more rubber up front for traction. Boost and flush fitment dont work too well together on the tc. Yes you can have both, but not the best of both. You either go low and run camber or dont go low, have no camber and have grip.
