No doubt it looks good. But SL has the weirdest fanboy boner right now. NYNCTC 11-25-2011, 07:19 PM mmmm boners.... Tom11x 11-25-2011, 08:48 PM hhahaha. No worries mark. I'm not saying im running crazy aggressive specs. As long it makes me jello lol im happy. fliphm00b 11-25-2011, 10:09 PM ^ coo Tom just wanted u to know. Not trying to start a war.. yellowxhoodie 11-25-2011, 10:36 PM The internet has desensitized everyone. Nothings ever good enough now in the sea of online build threads. Everyone just tries to one up each another. 09SocalTC 11-26-2011, 01:20 AM Offset is everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol jk Hayseed 11-26-2011, 01:34 AM The internet has desensitized everyone. Nothings ever good enough now in the sea of online build threads. Everyone just tries to one up each another. If you're not running Luxury Abstract wheels on your tC you're doing it wrong nowadays. Jasper Ash 11-26-2011, 02:32 AM The internet has desensitized everyone. Nothings ever good enough now in the sea of online build threads. Everyone just tries to one up each another. True Story. DPT852 11-26-2011, 03:13 PM Buy my air ride! mmmpshh 11-26-2011, 03:24 PM im sorry but most of the full faced "luxury wheels" dont even look good on the tc... alot of people get them just because of how expensive they are or were. People hardly do things because it looks good anymore. It kinda sucks because people who do have a good setup dont get the respect they deserve. Tom11x 11-26-2011, 08:06 PM ^true. Hayseed 11-26-2011, 08:21 PM Dude mmmpssh you made any progress re doing those wheels I sent ya? Sent from Somewhere using Something. Jasper Ash 11-27-2011, 12:17 AM I said f*ck it. Went out and installed air-suspension and had my Rotiforms painted penny-copper in the last couple of hours. Yeah. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7007/6408407833_4bc5de16ef_b.jpg Syldrin 11-27-2011, 01:15 AM Jasper did you photochop that? ~.~ If not it looks sick man. Skittle 11-27-2011, 01:18 AM thats a PS image....if not thats some funky looking shadowing LOL Jasper Ash 11-27-2011, 02:08 AM It's a photoshop. Wanted to see what my tC would look like on bags. And I've been thinking about doing that color wheels but idk how anyone can get the proper finish as pictured. SupraScion69 11-27-2011, 02:55 AM I wish my wheels where here! :( Skittle 11-27-2011, 03:10 AM theres a powdercoating in tampa or orlando i believe that does excellent work....they qouted me 500 to powdercoat my grids in gloss black....I just got my buddy who paints for a living do them for me instead....Im thinking of doing soething with red on the inside lip of the grids tho. Havent decided what yet tho chubbykai 11-27-2011, 07:46 AM ooh... that copper would look sick! NYNCTC 11-27-2011, 03:00 PM wow Jasper do it! bigG2148 11-27-2011, 04:33 PM looks sick jasper mmmpshh 11-27-2011, 06:40 PM love the color... I might have to steal that idea/color lol Hayseed, pm'd you on the wheels. I really wanna keep em but I cant find anyone to do the work the way I would want it around here... Jasper Ash 11-27-2011, 06:53 PM It's color changed over the machine finish. Thats what I like about it. If they were painted copper it wouldn't look as good. mmmpshh 11-27-2011, 06:57 PM ^ wouldnt a metallic give you the same effect? or a flat metallic? jgrycko 11-27-2011, 07:33 PM Nice photoshop jasper, I've been trying to find a shop around here that could powder coat or anodize wheels for the better part of a year to do a penny copper color. They all say yes and when i see a sample it looks like a burnt orange color. Jasper Ash 11-27-2011, 09:09 PM Maybe anodized would do it? mmmpshh 11-27-2011, 09:17 PM jasper, check your pm! Irishguy0224 11-28-2011, 02:32 AM new wheels on the way! <3 Jasper Ash 11-28-2011, 02:48 AM Thanks for the heads up, man. I'll give it a shot. NYNCTC 11-28-2011, 02:41 PM what did you get? Irishguy0224 11-28-2011, 02:58 PM Style 5's Hayseed 11-28-2011, 03:00 PM my old style 5's to be exact Jasper Ash 11-28-2011, 04:44 PM I thoroughly enjoy those wheels. Just wish they were a bit wider. Nonetheless, can't wait to see how Irish does them. Irishguy0224 11-28-2011, 10:56 PM Considering re-barreling them. Gotta look into it more though. Regardless, they are going to have the faces re-painted and the lips redone. Harrison, this is 2 sets of your old wheels i have owned now lol Hayseed 11-29-2011, 01:25 AM Lol I know and whats funnier is that you havent ever got them directly from me lol. So I was offered a trade for my alphards: http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n92/pauvneksqb14/IMG_0242.jpg Specs are 17x8, 18x10 and it comes with a 17x8 spare, 18x8.5 spare, and a 18" spare face. I'd plan on re-lipping both the fronts and the rears. Thoughts? Keep the Alphards? Jon 11-29-2011, 01:35 AM Mitos are ok. I've always liked Alphards though. However you could use the Mitos to leverage a trade next time around being that they're multi-piece. Hayseed 11-29-2011, 01:36 AM ^Exactly. I think he's nuts to trade me 6 and 1/3 wheels for my alphards. Idk I'm kinda torn. Irishguy0224 11-29-2011, 01:55 AM thats tough, i wanted to see Alphards on a tC... And honestly, those Mitos' do nothing for me Jasper Ash 11-29-2011, 02:10 AM I say do it. Because I still want to do the Alphards. :) Irishguy0224 11-29-2011, 02:14 AM i was thinking about doing Alphards before harrison bought them...Bastard... Hayseed 11-29-2011, 02:17 AM Lol you guys... Kyle you'll probably get mine in some roundabout way. Jasper, hows about I run them, then we trade? Deal. Theres a set of 17x9.5/11 Gotti's (like Futuras) fs on vwvortex... Damn guy wont trade. I really wanna do 11's at some point. Jasper Ash 11-29-2011, 03:02 AM I won't want them after someone's had them lol. Btw, I went back to coilovers and re-painted my wheels machined finish. http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx143/Jasperashmusic/Original.jpg TCpete 11-29-2011, 03:26 AM FYI for those of you wanting to re-barrel correctly in the mid west and west LMK. i can give u names of some good people chubbykai 11-29-2011, 06:24 AM http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y100/chubbykai/2011-11-28_14-16-29_874.jpg tryin to get more professional photos and space my rears out a bit xP Tom11x 11-29-2011, 07:35 AM nice Irishguy0224 11-29-2011, 11:52 AM FYI for those of you wanting to re-barrel correctly in the mid west and west LMK. i can give u names of some good people what do you mean correctly? yellowxhoodie 11-29-2011, 02:57 PM FYI for those of you wanting to re-barrel correctly in the mid west and west LMK. i can give u names of some good people Do you know if Work Equips with the DDC can be rebarreled? Jon 11-29-2011, 03:21 PM They can. I had mine completely apart. http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5186/5607825721_c3348704fb_z.jpg 09SocalTC 11-29-2011, 04:49 PM how big of a PITA is it to take them apart? Jon 11-29-2011, 04:59 PM Taking them apart is pretty straight forward. Just take the bolts out and break the outer seal then pry them apart. The worst part is removing all the old sealant. i_pogi 11-30-2011, 06:27 AM i just bought 17x10 stp1's wondering if i could run 215/45/17 in the rear without rubbing? i'm dropped on racelands and i have shaved fenders front and rear? Jasper Ash 11-30-2011, 04:19 PM ^ If you're trying to go low with minimal rubbing, I think a lot of us would suggest a 40 series tire on 17s. Has anyone ever plugged a stretched tire? Or had any issues with a nail? Found a nail right in the middle of my tire today and I can't tell if it has gone all the way through or not. Thinking about just plugging it. http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx143/Jasperashmusic/e7a89a4b.jpg tC-S08 11-30-2011, 06:58 PM I have a nail just like you, and I just lefted cause I wasn't losing air or anything and I've been driving with the nail in the tire for like a month and had no problem so far but it wasn't until yesterday till I was deciding to go to the tire shop & have them take it out patch it if it went through and rotate my tires cause Its kind of scary Lol, so I'll probably do it this weekend Jasper Ash 11-30-2011, 08:27 PM Let me know how it goes. turd.ferguson 12-01-2011, 04:47 PM Jasper, if you have that nail removed, id hold on to it. I think philips head nails are pretty rare :) NYNCTC 12-01-2011, 04:49 PM it looks so perfect in the middle of tire, in the middle of the tread. TCpete 12-01-2011, 06:11 PM Do you know if Work Equips with the DDC can be rebarreled? yes they can sir!!! :icon_mrgreen: @Irishguy0224 some places that claim to be able to rebarrel use low quality steel or aluminum that bend and form easy. they also use low grade bolts or wrong thickness in flaring edge of the lip where the face meets the barrel causing there to be less thread threaded on the nut/bolt. also the aluminum sometimes is not balanced properly causing ____ty vibrations... yes balancing the wheel and tire helps but the wheel will never be 100% balanced like it should causing the studs to shake on the faces and become loose after a while (needing to be tightened more then they should after X amount of mileage) its little things like that that are very important. Jasper Ash 12-01-2011, 06:32 PM Jasper, if you have that nail removed, id hold on to it. I think philips head nails are pretty rare :) Hahah alright funny guy. Nail, screw, doesn't matter. It's a metal object that has punctured my tire. yellowxhoodie 12-01-2011, 08:34 PM yes they can sir!!! Meh, still gonna sell em, lol. Got 6 new buddies on their way from Japan. Skittle 12-03-2011, 02:51 AM patching a stretched tire can be done, it just is super sketchy bc of it being stretched already. GL tho! I was going to be the only car in my area with them, and some ____ing kid caught wind of it and bought a set almost identical. AnthoLiza 12-07-2011, 03:22 AM Guys I need some help! :( I just purchased some tires Falken Zeix 502 by 205/40 attempting to mount on 17x8.5 offset 20. The mounting wasnt a problem but the outcome of the look of the wheel was kinda of disappointing, there was a decent stretch but once wheel was mounted on my car, I now have a noticeable wheel gap almost 2 finger in the rear and 1 in the front. I am sitting on stechs. The tire looks so thin like low pro thin :*( any advice guys. I plan on purchasing new tires this week any sizing tips? I would like to get best look stretch and gap fill. Any advice would help thanks in advance. Flint_Mica_tc07 12-07-2011, 03:35 AM Get 18s or get coilovers Jasper Ash 12-07-2011, 04:15 AM The more stretch you have, the more gap and clearance you'll have. You dont need that stretch on S-techs. So you'll either need to go lower, or proper sized tires. Tom11x 12-07-2011, 04:33 AM ^x2 AnthoLiza 12-07-2011, 04:35 AM So Im guessing go back to 215/45 ??? Yes it works, there's plenty of vids showing this technique to do tire stretch. An alternative from risking setting yourself on fire or the using a bead blaster. Hayseed 12-07-2011, 08:26 PM :tap:Wonder if I could just mount my own tires then? dropzone 12-07-2011, 08:34 PM You can, I posted a clip that took what seemed an evening to switch one tire lol. Here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuYhrhW_wWs&feature=youtube_gdata_player Irishguy0224 12-07-2011, 08:44 PM Ya, i have seen that one. But this tube idea... That has me thinking lol. Is that you would have to do in order to mount a freaking tire? Then get it balanced? if so, im in. dropzone 12-07-2011, 08:46 PM It depends on the stretch, you may need to do that, may not. Then just get it balanced. Hayseed 12-08-2011, 10:42 PM Making a comeback: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7029/6479236029_d8845b00aa_b.jpg NYNCTC 12-09-2011, 12:57 AM are those the Alphards? Idk if it's because they're mostly on air in the stance scene or what. But Alphards tucked on an bagged MKV is just money. I really think these would look amazing with some rear rim tuck on our cars.
