Since this is the aggressive stance threads anyone out there running different size rims thats still aggressive. I brought 2 rims already thats 18x9s but after seeing this:
http://www.scionlife.com/forums/showthread.php?t=128917&page=432 ,
I may go for something similar (if they are different size rims) or just go the 18x9 all-around look that I originally planned.

A example of this would be like:

18x8 fronts, 19x8 rears
or like what I'm thinking of doingVVVV
18x9 fronts 35 off., 19x9.5 rears 35 off.

Pics and opinions would be nice...

yellowxhoodie
01-29-2010, 01:52 AM
i would stick with the same circumference on a tc personally.

midnight_blue
01-29-2010, 01:57 AM
would their be any issues with different sizes setup, after reading many threads im prepared to roll fenders, change camber, or etc. for my original setup.

yellowxhoodie
01-29-2010, 03:13 AM
youd prob have to roll the front and def. roll the back.
but that depends on your suspension to.

midnight_blue
01-29-2010, 03:55 AM
well I know imma go with some coils, I all goes well via tax return imma hop on that F&F group buy if they still have it up. if not some ricelands, I figure that it would be different to do 18 f 19 r, since I seen some acura TL's run hot wheels setups.

So instead of splurging on wheels, I'm going a little cheaper and then splurging on suspension.
But anyways I was looking at some 17x7 +47 Work CR's..not the CR-kai's.
I plan on B&G coil overs and slamming, but what size spacers would you guys recommend?

TCpete
02-03-2010, 12:02 AM
+47 is super high... your gona hate that offset

getaforknjob
02-03-2010, 12:04 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that what the spacer is for correcting?

TCpete
02-03-2010, 12:05 AM
yes but running spacers is not ideal... just a bandaid

getaforknjob
02-03-2010, 12:07 AM
Of course.
What's so non-ideal about it?

TCpete
02-03-2010, 12:14 AM
added stress on studs, you could have also improperly balanced wheel set up adding to poor driving... anything above 10mm u should already be looking into extended studs since your loosing thread length also... ive seen plenty of my share of mis haps

getaforknjob
02-03-2010, 12:17 AM
Okay.
Understandable.
What size spacers would you recommend running with?

TCpete
02-03-2010, 12:21 AM
5mm at most.. anything after that and i would consider running extended studs.. only because i see your going turbo and that extra TQ and wheel hope your gona have is gona be murder

getaforknjob
02-03-2010, 12:24 AM
I won't be going turbo for a while.
I just started school, so I probably won't be installing that till next spring.

Where can I find extended studs and how long should I go for a nice flush look?

idk if you could qualify me as being aggressive any more, especially since I sold my VS-XX, but I was getting tired of having weak fitment and not rubbing w/ the GTC01s, so I picked up some spacers.

Final et: 18x8 +32 18x8 +20. Not the most aggressive, but still not bad for a daily beater, and yes I beat the ____ out of my car now lol

heres an old pic, but by looking at the tires you can see if i had the camber out to like -1 or even -1.5 (instead of -2.7/-4.4), there would be too much poke lol..
i kind of like where its poking right now but i might dial it out just a bit more for a little bit more poke

fiendskillz does your tire rub on that rear bumper lip where the bolts at? And if not what did you do to prevent it??

no, because i have that part shaved and no bolt on it.. in the picture provided up top it sticks out cause nothing is holding it back on the panel..
but im probably gonna drill and relocate the hole and put a zip tie to try to hold the fender as so it won't stick out.. it doesnt really bother me because it doesnt pop out that much unless your looking straight at it or know its out of place lol

dqlostsoulz

Ask jaewrek he is putting it to the limit. I have to be very cautious on turns and drive ways..things of that nature.

jaewrek
02-20-2010, 02:18 AM
My only advice is keep your wheels straight whenever you go over something that pushes your suspension up. Driveways, speed bumps, turns with random ___ bumps.
Every time my fenders dented in was after going up a drive way.

I think stiffer springs would help, because your suspension wouldn't travel as much.
I'd assume camber would help. I don't know cause I don't have any =(
But I also thought it might make things worse if the wheel is cambered in, when you take sharp turns I think the upper rear portion of the tire would stick out more during a turn than if it wasn't cambered in. *shrug*

Aroddalobster
02-20-2010, 04:24 PM
you guys do know there's more to it than just camber, right? caster can also be changed so that when you turn, your wheels camber in. if suspension travel is an issue, just stick in a spring spacer. or get air cups lawl

Aroddalobster

aircup:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upGAjGXPA54 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upGAjGXPA54[/youtube)
Basically little air bags that go on top of coilovers so you can get air ride adjustability and coilover performance. they cost just as much as airbags... so yeah, probably not something for scions.

caster:
To give you a visual example, look at the front of this
http://shoutingthomas.typepad.com/photos/motorcycle_pictures/chopper1large.gif
That's hella caster right there. I'm sure you can guess that a car's steering angle is a lot more perpendicular to the ground than that. I suck at explaining things, so
http://www.240edge.com/performance/tuning-caster.html
wikipedia does wonders, btw.

if you want to adjust it, i would definitely say go to an alignment shop. Just like adjusting camber and toe on stock bolts/arms, It's not an easy task, and i'm not even sure if it's possible to adjust all too much on our cars.

chicotunner07

t_urbo_C_harged
02-21-2010, 02:33 PM
you can do that. That was what I was referring too. Then get ingalls camber bolts for the front. Best of both worlds :) I currently have this kit on each side running a little over -2* of camber (had to do this since the HKS coils don't have adjustable pillow mounts).
