View Full Version : any more mods before i get the s/c?? Drummer829 06-05-2008, 10:23 PM i already have the i/h/e setup and i was wondering if i could get any more power mods before i throw on the s/c... any helpe or ideas would be great, thanks 2_much_tc 06-05-2008, 10:26 PM the CR-Crank Pulley from NST would be good... draxcaliber 06-05-2008, 10:39 PM why did you do intake? the intake has to go back to stock or else you'll lose your powertrain warranty with the supercharger. so uhm... you gotta give them your stock intake to put on with your supercharger. Drummer829 06-05-2008, 11:49 PM well my uncle is a toyota mechanic, so he said he can install it for me with the nst 9.5lb pulley and new bpv and tell them its all stock so i keep my warranty...but i was just wondering if there is anything else i can do to the car to add a little extra whp before i install my s/c that will work well when i get it and i got my cai before i knew i was gettin the s/c 2_much_tc 06-06-2008, 12:14 AM the CR-Crank Pulley from NST would be good... Drummer829 06-06-2008, 03:18 AM the one for the s/c? draxcaliber 06-07-2008, 03:15 AM no, the 9.5 psi pulley is for the supercharer itself, the CR crank pulley is the one that the engine itself turns to turn the supercharger. joeya28 06-07-2008, 06:57 PM get the cr pulley and the 20% Alternator & WP-Lite Water Pump KIT, all together you'll get about 8 HP but its an all round gain not top end or low end so you'll feel it.. that with the 9.5psi pulley should be nice Blue_TC_Man 06-07-2008, 09:11 PM get the cr pulley and the 20% Alternator & WP-Lite Water Pump KIT, all together you'll get about 8 HP but its an all round gain not top end or low end so you'll feel it.. that with the 9.5psi pulley should be nice no do not get underdrive pullies with a s/c system it will lower the boost. If you underdrive your accesory system 20% it will also underdive your s/c pulley 20% joeya28 06-07-2008, 09:49 PM no you get a cr crank pulley (not underdrive) and then the 20% Alternator & WP-Lite Water Pump KIT, that doesn't effect boost with the s/c. as long as the crank pulley is lightened and OEM size your fine, if your going turbo then you can get a under drive crank pulley... this is what the rep from NST said. Drummer829 06-07-2008, 09:51 PM thats what i kinda tought that the 9.5 nst pulley was only for the s/c...so should i get the cr pulley before the s/c and will it put more power with and without the s/c Blue_TC_Man 06-07-2008, 10:34 PM no you get a cr crank pulley (not underdrive) and then the 20% Alternator & WP-Lite Water Pump KIT, that doesn't effect boost with the s/c. as long as the crank pulley is lightened and OEM size your fine, if your going turbo then you can get a under drive crank pulley... this is what the rep from NST said. i find that very hard to believe, if you underdrive any part of your accessory system you will see a drop in boost. a lighter pulley will turn fast and will still alter your boost some Drummer829 06-07-2008, 11:35 PM does anyone have it on their car?? joeya28 06-08-2008, 12:27 AM it makes sense to me. if you have question IM the NST guys they have a screen name and are very helpful Drummer829 06-08-2008, 08:13 PM well ive talked to a couple manufactures, like the people who answer phones, and 75% of the time they dont know jack ____....thats why most of the time i ask people around the forums because they know from actual experiance Blue_TC_Man 06-08-2008, 08:19 PM Ive never seen anyone with a belt driven S?C system put undersized or lighter crank pulleys on their cars for the reason it will change the amount of boost the s/c pulley produces IMO do not mess with the accessory drive of the car at all Drummer829 06-08-2008, 08:22 PM o well i guess i will just wait til i get the s/c...but i might get an sti before that sooo idk what im doin |
