Default Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 or MB Quart DSE216

I am getting new speakers for xmas, so I need to choose either MB Quart which I can get at my local tweeter center for $249, or infinity kapp perfect 6.1, which I can get at an online store, ebay, etc for around $200 + 30 dollar shipping.. I know both are good, and it would easier to just get the MB Quart since I dont have to order them

I would get the MB Quarts. But mad get them from either one of the links I am supplying. Why pay $250 from tweeters. If your going to buy the Infinities might as well get the MBs online. Never heard Perfects but the MBs sound clear but lack some midbass.

I saw that discountjungle.net earlier when I was searching and they certainly have good prices, but how reputable are these people? For that price you have to be sacrificing something? Have you ordered there before..

this is just my opinion but I would buy I more efficient speaker than MB Quart. they play LOW!!!! why get a peaker that has a sensitivity od 86db or 87db at 1w@1m. When some speakers out there are at about 94 to 96 db at 1w@1m. keep in mind to go up 3b typically you need to double power...... hel I used to use EV lead guitar mids 12" that put 110db at 1w@1m......talk about loud and clean   :twisted:The Infinty's are rated at 90db at1w@1m and will play much louder with the same power.... :D :D

Before I go and waste my money, are the stock speakers on the door panel 6 1/2 inch or 5 1/4?

The fronts are 6.5". I mean by all means if u want some better speakers there are more choices out there. I have CDT EFs in my tC and they sound phenominal and I have about 110 watts running to them. They will be getting about 150-160 in the spring. If your willing to spend $250 might want to look into CDT, maybe even Diamond Motorsports, there some very clear loud speakers.

speaker in doors-6.5"
is there any way you can listen to both sets of speakers? at a store, friends, somewhere? the reason I say this is that every person hears sounds differently so what sounds good to you might not sound good to someone else. my personal experience with both brands is the Quart tweeters are very harsh sounding to me, with the midrange speaker sounding pretty natural, and the Infinity speakers sound good as a total package.
but don't rely on what we say, you need to go out and listen for yourself.

Either Diamond, Planet Audio or Boston Acoustic. All sound amazing to me and have excellent value.

I plan on BA's for my interior.

MB quart, Boston, and Infinity are the definition of bright, harsh speakers. Go out and listen to speakers before buying any.

If you want good quality speakers, check out CDT, DLS, Focal, Rainbow, Morel, Dynaudio. All make excellent speakers, and CDT, DLS, Focals, Rainbow all have entry lines starting at under $200 that blow away many of the top of the line competitors.

Boston Acoustics aren't that harsh, at least not compared to the MB's. They have a patented design that harmonically balances the tweeters. It does help, and the higher end ones have better versions of this.

You must be looking at retail pricing or something. My DLS UR6s are $599 and I paid $340 shipped for them. They have great entry level speakers starting under $200 a set.

AIM djdilliodon for awesome speaker prices. He is a CDT/DLS/Cadence/US amps... dealer. High end good stuff at crazy prices. I've spent $2000 with him in the last 6 months, and couldn't be happier.

600 for a 3 way componenet set isn't bad... most good ones usually go for 1000 and up...

I must throw in a recommendation for CDT Audio. I've been using a High Definition Extreme Excursion Series 10" sub from CDT for the past year and I love it. I upgraded from an Infinity Perfect 10 after I blew it up... CDT makes amazing stuff for every price range, I'm still trying to decide what I'm going to put in my Tc once it finally arrives..

Friend ran a 12" CDT HD in a TC for awhile. Sounded awesome. Had a box built to fit in the TC, and it was simply amazing. Can't beat the price either. Last time I checked, he was selling it for $200 with the custom box. Shipping wouldn't be that cheap, but it would be hard to find something better for the price.
