Default my Turbo opinion

ok, well I know Jesse from Turbokits.com personally. I have spoken to him (in person) on the TSI kit more than a few times. It seems as if when he sells this kit to people NOT from a shop, they have problems. But when he sells it to a shop, they have NO problems. Not knowing anyone on heres abilities, I am just speaking my opinion here... BOLT ON never means BOLT ON... Anyone in this industry knows that. And has far as taking a vehicle that is N/A and making it forced induction, there will ALWAYS be tuning. You will NEVER find a plug and play kit...If you do, the price will be so astronomical that it wont be worth it.... According to the guys at Greddy who I spoke to at SEMA, that is why they are NOT going to produce a kit for the USDM version of the box. For the price their kit will be after the proper R&D (research and development) the kit will be so pricey, nobody will buy it. So buy the TSI kit, pay a SHOP or someone with a clue to put it in (who isnt afraid of a little fabrication or actual WORK), grab a Greddy Emanage, and take a trip to the dyno where PROPER tuning should be done anyways. Then I am sure everyone will be boosting happily. Just remember, nothing is EVER bolt-on.....I just dont understand how anyone can make any N/A vehicle forced induction and not expect to have to tune it.... And another thing, if all tuning was, was turning a couple ***** in your driveway and being done, their wouldnt be "tuners" or dyno shops.......

TSI is in Cerritos, CA so if anyone is in SoCal, hit em up.

Turbokits.com is selling the kits too much also. For the quality of the kit, it's an $1800 product.

and for Greddy, so their not making the kit? Each time I talk to Greddy at a show I get a different story (5 so far), it's absolute bull____.

The EL Prototype kit is coming out in January so save up for that.

I spoke to someone on the phone about 3 months ago, and they said it was in development...Called a month after that and they said they arent developing one. Then at SEMA I met with them and I was told that its not being made because the power gain wasnt worth the price they would have to charge for the kit. He told me that nobody would spend 4 g's for their kit and get 35hp....

I talked to them over a year ago and they said it would be done in June 04 and the price would be under $2500

Last time I checked they FINISHED the kits and were waiting for the emmisions label before they start selling it.

Do you know how to tune and have your own shop or a nice hookup on standalones? I have a JDM Blitz supercharger for sale but needs tweaking to get it to fit and needs a standalone ECU. Sellin it for $1200...it's for an auto though.

I have a shop that I use to dyno everything. I have no standalone right now, just an Emanage. I am going turbo though, not supercharger....Thanks for the offer though...

I spoke to greddy face to face at SEMA and was told they are NOT producing a kit for the US version of the box. If you think the turbokits.com prices are high, you definitley arent going to want a Greddy. The greddy kit (if ever produced) and the revhard kit (if ever finished) are both going to be like 4K.

I got mine for 2450 shipped from Jesse, the kit is garbage. I dont care what he says, the kit is not worth any amount of money.

I'd hate to tell you, but the average person with mechanical knowledge should be able to install a turbo kit. Greddy kits are always complete. The TSI kit is far from complete. The kit does not fit, it was not made for an xA or an xB it was made for a Taiwanese car called the Vios. It is cheap, cast Taiwanese NON FITTING ____. You have to bend your brake lines out of the way to keep them from being damaged.

The directions are non-existant, and the fuel system is poor and insufficient. The BOV leaks, the clamps break, the pipes dont fit. The windshield washer resevoir has to be removed... it's just not worth it.

Oh yea, and after 2 weeks, the turbo seals went. THANKS TSI!!

Don't buy the kit. End of story.

Yea, the Greddy kit is complete....But that is why its four grand....... There is a reason the TSI kit is only 2500.... Ya get what ya pay for...I personally am going to get the TSI kit, but am going to wait the month for them to finish the designated XB kit...

wow......sucks you got shafted...but there is that expression you get what you pay for...its seems that the trend esp with the xb is for companies to want to produce turbo kits, but then once everything is figured out the kit will cost 1/3 of the cost of the car and people do not want to part with that kind of change.... under pressure was "supposed" to do my car last sept.....hmmmm i guess that never happened...oh well ill have my staniless tubular manifold right after the first of the year, turbo on hand....and more parts coming....so i hope itll be done by next sept :D no i know itll be done before that. but nothing happen quickley with our cars, or anything in this industry for that matter. but good things come to those who wait....or at least have lots of cash to rush the parts

Don't count on that happening... oh yea, and if they DO make the kit... tell them I'll be expecting the parts, as they sold it to me as an xB kit.
