Well I decided to tear into my doors and take out the 6" mid and put in the new RF 8" mid and tweeter. Little cutting, little making and there you go. 8" mid in the door now.

 

How do you like the 8's in the doors? I've been thinking about getting a couple Digital Designs 1008's for door use, just not sure if there's enough higher frequency to be midrange instead of midbass...

Pretty decent job with the rouding out there. Looks like you have enough room behind the speakers as well. What wattage are they?

There's a lot of room. I made a spacer/mounting ring our of 3/4" MDF for my 6.5 components. I think there's even more room than that...

I think any decne 8 will fit up there.

 

looks good, NOW get some sound deadening in there!!!! I know I dont have to tell you that though...hehe.

There is sound deadening material all over the back of it. I put a bunch in there before I mounted the speaker.

It sounds awesome. I have 3 12's in there also and have been running around with them basically off and just using the mid bass from the 8's to cover it.

 

Hey whats the model number on these?

 

I talked to my Rockford Rep, and he's never heard of these, as a current model, or a future model.

Are these actually rockford, or does RF stand for something else?

 

Does the door panel still fit over the larger speaker or did you have to modify the speaker cover on the panel.

The panel fits right back over it. There is alot of room behind the panel for sure.
