Thank you to all who showed up today. It was a great time and drive. Luckily we got decent weather and got to somewhat see the mountain.

Had a great time today, nice drive, good turnout and the weather cooperated for the most part, a little foggy on the drive up, but burned off nicely. Picnic was great, good to see everyone. As an added bonus, The Foth showed up for the picnic with his Drift yaris in tow, very nice in deed. Pics will be up today or tomorrow, depends on how ambitious I get.

We had a great time today. Pictures will follow soon.

As you should be..Sorry, but we tried to get you to go..Last I heard you were working a double..At least you saved on gas..

Well I had a blast.......glad to get to see the snow and the mountain came out for us to see as well.......what amazed me is the Ridge is 5 miles from the base of the mountain.......distance is so hard to figure out when looking at something so huge.......

Glad everyone liked the food and I got to try the chili tonight after I got home and it was indeed pretty good........

Much thanks to the Yarii guys and gals that drove all that way to hang out......I was really glad to get to meet you guys........the little eggplant shall look a lot differant next time I catch up with you guys more than likely........

Also a really big thanks to Foth for taking all the time and Diesel to trailer that little monster down for us to drool all over..........hope to see it drifting one of these days.......

the official number was 33 cars driving.......but.........Foth did drive all the way down in the truck with a trailer and brought for all of us to see the Drift yaris.......so techniquely there were 35 total.......that car is a thing of beauty.........and he let us climb all over it and of course me under it........not sure why I always end up under the cars........LOL

I've found over time that three splits of the larger event topic works best for everyone in the long run.

First split is the initial planning: the what, where, when to get something off the ground. The wild idea that grows into something.

Second split after what, where, when has been decided, and now we need to know who and all the sign-up and meet-up details.

Third split: All the pics, comments, and chatter about how great a time it was.

It all works best if those end up being three different topics. :)

(But ALWAYS provide links to the new topic so people don't get left behind.) :D

We had a blast, and thanks to scionlife Yarisworld had their biggest showing in the PNW to date: 5 Yarii! lol. Great food too.

Glad to have the Yarii aboard! They are the closest thing on the market right now to the original Scions.

In fact, I always think of them as 2 door Scion xAs. :)

Hope the Yarii join us in more events. :)

Great photos everyone!! Felt like I was there.... almost. Sorry I wasn't able to come along but it's kind of a long haul from this end of the world. A bunch (like 15 or so) of WRXs went roaring past here on Sunday and I thought of you all there at Mt. St. Helen's. Maybe next year I'll make a weekend of it.

Yes, Brian, EXCELLENT chilli, and thanks for smoking yourself half to death in front of the BBQ making sure we all had MORE than enough dogs and burgers to eat.

I really do need to add more thanks to everyone who went so all out making SURE there was enough food to feed the entire campground two or three times over. Thanks for all the bottled waters, the soft drinks, the chips, the salads, the cheesecake. Thank you Will for making the emergency run down to the Safeway in Castle Rock to buy the burger patties for everyone after the original source fell through. Thanks for the napkins, the forks, the cups and plates and all the little extras that make a potluck picnic in the middle of nowhere work well.

And the weather WAS quite excellent. :) Actually much better than I was afraid it was going to be. :)

yea, food was AWESOME!! the chili was sooooooo good, not bland but not so spicy it took away from the overall flavor, just enough kick...wish i had brought some Tupperware to take some home

Shoulda asked around, Nomindo!!! I had a clean, never-been-used, one quart, throwaway plastic food container there just like the ones the tomatoes, onions, and lettuce were in... :( I'd have been happy to let you have it to drag chili home in. :)

(Reminds me to suggest maybe bringing such things along to potluck events...)

^I am trying to decide on springs tonight.......Tanabe DF210 drop it 1.5 front and 1.6 back which leaves me a solid inch gap between tire and fender.........a inch should be good.....I could got Stechs and go 1.9 front back but think that willbe too low.......

Also the parking lot photos are awsome.......that is a long line of cars......next year I hope we can get 50 cars.......that would be really something to see.......

This is something to put on the list for future gatherings so that we will remember to bring it to everyone's attention...

Well, now that we all enjoyed the cruise and BBQ/Picnic, and have had time to look back on it and remember how nice it was to see everyone and eat until we were in a stupor, let me toss out one thing that absolutely MUST be said:

Anyone who promises to show up and bring something to a gathering needs to take personal responsibility to follow through on that promise.

If for some reason that person cannot fulfill that promise they need to either (1) arrange for someone else to bring whatever it was they promised, or (2) at least let the folks trying to organize the gathering know that they are going to flake out on it.

Obviously number (1) is preferred since many people are depending on that promise, but AT LEAST let people know if you are not going to uphold your promise so alternate arrangements can be made in other than a panic situation.

Thanks to the folks who pitched in and made it work anyway! :D

I would like to add one other thing. When doing long cruises a drivers meeting helps organize the group. There doesn't need to be introductions because a lot of people hate those, but a quick here is what we are doing, bla bla. It made it hard because the way down was kind of a free for all and it would have been quite a bit more fun to get everyone to roll down together.

We also need to burn into everyone's mind that there will be NO burn-outs, NO loud audio, NO driving like a squirrel, NO doughnuts in the parking lot, NO excessive speeding, NO cutting in and out of traffic.

All Pacific Northwest Scion Events of any sort need to have everyone behave with proper decorum - we want to leave everyone else on the road with a good impression of Scions - we don't want to look like a bunch of Hondas...
