Default Avic-F Series

Has anyone seen places carrying these yet? I thought it was supposed to hit the streets this weekend (which seemed odd to me) but I haven't seen any stores with them yet.

Well what's the difference between the 90 and the 900? Only thing I can see is that the 90 comes with a iPod cable and has 4v outs instead of 2.2v. Neither of those features are worth $100 more...

Yeah, I mean the ipod cable is 50 bucks alone so why not pay 100, get the cable the longer warranty and the better preouts?

It's a gyroscope monitored system. You'll need to do a fun bypass, not a simple ground out =P

Wow.. they made the screen size SMALLER.....
From a 6.1 for the D-3 down to a 5.8 for this newer F90BT.
Bummer........... Looks like I'll be searching for a close-out D-3 somewheres.....

Pm me anyone if you see a sweet price on a new D-3... thanks.. jh

i'll take the .3 inch loss for the built in bluetooth, sd card reader, and built-in nav opposed to having to use dvd-roms... as soon as i can sell my jvc double din to someone then i'll be ordering the f90

No gyros in the F series according to the folks over at AVIC411:
http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.p...er=asc&start=0
In that thread they say this bypass works for all F series. Looks to be a pretty simple bypass.

On the negative side, there is a comment in that thread from the guy who posted the bypass that the BT doesn't sound very good to the people you call. His opinion is that the mic is maybe not the best since it sounds good in the car on the receiving end.
I'll be interested to hear XBFred's experience with that.

That is interesting Fred. I am wondering if it was more to do with the guy's phone he was using.

I had a Motorola cell phone I was using with my Parrot. I occasionally got negative comments about the quality on the other end when using my bluetooth. I recently went to a BlackBerry and have had a few times where the people on the other end did not know I was in my car on Bluetooth. It's now pretty obvious to me that the phone you are using plays a bigger part than you would think in how your in car set up works.
