I have an 06 auto tc with a stage 1 ZPI setup on the car. I just got done installing it and the car idled a little at first but now its ok for the mist part. The F/IC I bought already had a map on it for a ZPI setup so I lucked out pretty good on that one. I also used the bloomsland harness and I got no CEL's yet I plan on taking it to the tuner in the next couple of days too get the map clean up a little better for my car.

Anyway the biggest problem I have now is that the car takes about 2 or 3 seconds longer to start it with the starter. I know it doesnt sound that much longer but it sure seems a lot longer when the starter is spinning away. So when I take it to the tuner should he be able to fix this on the laptop or something?

what size injectors are you running?

do you ever get a loud bang or pop when you turn your key to the on position?

 

No I havent herd any unnormal noises yet

 

your going to just have to adjust your fuel map it seems at idle. maybe its not getting enough fuel right away to kick over??

 

OK then thats good to hear at least I know thats something that the tuner can take care of. Just wanted to make sure it wasnt anything that I did.

no prob if you would have had the emange blue it would be another story as you cant adjsut idle but with the FIC you can so im sure a few tweaks and you will be good to go!

Not to thread jack, but my car does longer to turn over also and Sometime I get this bang or pop too. Do you know why that is?

 

the loud bang noise is something i get every now and then and havent been able to pin point the problem... what kit you have?

does it only take longer to start when you get the bang?

was your kit installed yourself or by a shop?

 

Im on a custom kit installed by myself, and it takes longer to start every startup

 

idk then mine only take a bit to start when i get the pop...

what plugs you running? size injectors? managegment unit?

 

usualy you get the pop when your runing too rich, thats the un burnt fule in your pipes burning off. Try pulling fuel at idle?

 

ussually longer startups are a result of sparkplugs, have you changed them to 2 step?

 

does anyone have a FIC map I can try out? I know all you guys are turbo, and I am S/C, but Id like to modify what I have setup now, and see if anything feels better and which particular spots I could improve.

 

No I only dropped 1 step colder when I installed the ZPI kit first when it was a stage 0 kit

I had these pop before for the first few days i got my setup installed.. its more of a bang than a pop and the pressure it creates comes from the vacuum source and some gets their vacuum hose popped from the vacuum block.. I never had these again but I've been running some really rich mixtures and its a different from that exhaust pop/fireball sound that i hear from the midpipe.. still dont understand how this really happens I thought it was the unburnt fuel at start but someone mentioned an injector leak maybe a cause.
