to you guys who do overlays
im gonna buy some for my tail lights, i already did them on my eye lids and fog, and it went well but im concerned that our tail lights are to curved of a surface to come out good, how does it work out? are their ripples, do you have to make cuts?
if you take your time, and have a heat gun or hair dryer, your good. again TAKE YOUR TIME, i havent dont my tail lights but i have done my headlights before and for it being MY first try at applying them, they turned out great. the overlays stretch under heat so if you can manage to stretch it and make it look good, you can always trim off the what you dont need. hope that helps in any way :D
oh god don't waste your money there is no way in ____ing hell you'll get them fit. IF YOU DO please tell me how because I don't see how its possible with the curvyness of the backlight. Yes you're suppose to use dryer but even that doesn't work well.

I never said overlays are bad I have it on my headlight and vrd fogs but good god the ones for the tail is almost impossible or I could be just really bad. The headlights weren't so bad.

The tC (05-07) has a fairly consistent compound curve and is in the middle of the road in terms of time required to install. The 08's do take more effort and time to install though the process is the same.
Seems harder than it really is, and if you start off thinking it's too hard than you're setting yourself up for failure.
Use a hairdryer, it's what I did. Apply the overlay at the reverse light corner, (while wet of course) and just stretch it out like shrinkwrap as you apply. Molds perfectly when stretched over the surface and pulled around curves.
