XD40tC 06-19-2008, 08:21 PM Are they going to release the one for the box?
trdsparks 06-19-2008, 08:24 PM I will find out for you and let you know.
ChelsDS 06-20-2008, 01:11 AM Oh crap I need to get these!
Who makes this kit and have they made kits before? Whats the quality like?
trdsparks 06-20-2008, 03:58 AM Haha not sure if you saw in the 1st post, its from 5Axis.
tmrepp 06-20-2008, 04:39 AM Any idea how it mounts up? Does it slide right into the clips? I'm weary of cutting them off, hopefully someone (cough VRD?) makes some fogs that slide right in. :D
pickledchang 06-20-2008, 05:25 AM id also like a little more info on the install, especially how the wiring goes in... does it just come with a standard toggle switch to mount on your dash? could you post the install directions on here?
id have to say this is at the top of my list now of things to get!
tmrepp 06-20-2008, 05:33 AM Also, does it utilize the fog light (light) in the dash cluster? Someone figured out how to turn it on, did they ground it or give it 12v(+). I'd like to make the install completely seamless. Wiring doesn't really matter, as I'm good with it. Practically installed the whole alarm with a little guidance, and customized it to the point where it's at now. Also ran my own power inverter wire from the battery, put a relay in to turn on my radio from my alarm remote, and also relayed the inverter so it shuts off without the ignition on, but have a switch, so if I want it on without the car on it will turn on. Otherwise, you forget and leave it on.
Sorry, rambling. Mind's going 100mph, but I'm exhausted.
Zefoxe 06-20-2008, 05:38 AM About time something came out
ChelsDS 06-20-2008, 05:47 AM Haha not sure if you saw in the 1st post, its from 5Axis.
I thought that meant it was featured with the kit, not made by 5Axis.
Also interested if there is a toggle switch for the inside of the car and if (when they're one) that they light up the icon on the dash.
pickledchang 06-20-2008, 06:46 AM ive got the same questions as tmrepp, im hoping the install comes out to be as 'factory' looking/functioning as possible... so the xD has a fog light indicator light on the dash? ive never even paid attention to that.
MaxiVisVires 06-20-2008, 06:49 AM Will these fogs fit the RS1 body kit?
ChelsDS 06-20-2008, 06:49 AM pickledchang: The only way i knew it was there was I was messing around with my flashlight in the car and looking to see what symbols were on the gauges lol  Yes.. I do strange things when I get bored :lalala:
tmrepp 06-20-2008, 06:50 AM If your body kit just bolts on, the bumper isn't any different, then of course it would. If it changes the shape of the vent holes or whatever they're meant to be, then who knows. hah
edit:
^^ The only way i knew it was there was I was messing around with my flashlight in the car and looking to see what symbols were on the gauges lol  Yes.. I do strange things when I get bored :lalala:
I noticed when I had the gauge cluster sitting out beside the car in my driveway and the sun was shining on it. I was like wow, wtf and no fog light wiring? Lame
ChelsDS 06-20-2008, 06:53 AM iST symbol only
tmrepp 06-20-2008, 06:55 AM Huh? You mean wiring on the ist only, I know, it's not right. Every other car that toyota has put out, that has spots for fog lights at the very LEAST has the wiring for it. Oh well. I just hope I can figure out how to get that fog light indicator light to come on. I'll eventually do a clean install.
ChelsDS 06-20-2008, 07:14 AM Well its both. We don't have the pre-wiring so therefore the symbol will never light up unless we either wired in our fogs and had it come on when they did. Or you could be silly and just have the symbol turn on without fogs.
tmrepp 06-20-2008, 07:16 AM I'll eventually wire it in, so it'll seem completely factory. Symbol and all.
rhino74s 06-20-2008, 04:54 PM hmmmm..... very interesting. Miight have to check into these.
pickledchang 06-20-2008, 04:58 PM thats what i want, factory as possible. should be pretty easy to do despite lack of factory wiring. just need to find a nice switch that goes in one of the cutouts on the dash/console. so there is not even a bulb or led in there to light up the fog symbol?
tmrepp 06-20-2008, 05:35 PM Who said there's no way to light up the symbol?
pickledchang 06-21-2008, 12:15 AM i was reading that there was no wiring or anything... does this thing light up at start up? i havent even paid attention to that. is there an empty cannon plug or anything on the back of the gauges that we are going to run power to for this light?
trdsparks 06-21-2008, 04:38 AM Sorry for the late replies we've been pretty busy here. I'm still working on getting you guys the installs so we can all check out whats involved in the kit, I was going to be drop shipping them from the manufacturer but I think on Monday I'm going to get a set here and get into it to get you all good answers. Regarding the 5axis part I was misinformed and got excited with it. The same people that Toyota gets the 5Axis kit from are the ones that got me this fog kit and since it looks the same as the one on the 5axis car I jumped to conclusions. I'll get all the details for everyone on Monday though, either way its a killer kit, fully complete and in my mind pretty low priced compared to the other fog kits we've got for the other Toyota's and Scion's.
Jamie
tmrepp 06-21-2008, 05:10 AM Thanks for PUSHING this to us, it's GREATLY appreciated, just hope it doesn't involve cutting the tabs in our bumpers off. It'd be nice to have some high-res shots of them too, if you could. Thanks again Jamie!
trdsparks 06-21-2008, 05:21 AM Yeah, yeah haha sorry about that. I'll get you guys next week. Hopefully I'll get it in my hands within a couple days so i can get some good shots for everyone. Plus the installs!
tmrepp 06-21-2008, 05:23 AM Awesome. Top notch service right there. TRDSparks ftw.
pickledchang 06-21-2008, 09:11 AM C'mon payday!
zboytroy 06-21-2008, 08:09 PM Oh crap I need to get these!
Who makes this kit and have they made kits before? Whats the quality like?
The bodykit is manufactured by us, Five Axis. This kit is available currently through Scion Dealerships like Sparks or soon through other retailers. It is manufactured from OE grade black urethane and fits perfectly to the car. All our kits are designed and built using computer data and not hand shaped like other kits. This insures precision fit similar to any OE part.
The foglights shown on this post are NOT a Five Axis product. These fogs were simply Photochopped onto a car we built for Scion Corp w/o our knowledge.
Our prototype foglights are quite different and are still in development and testing. Here is what our lights look like. AND before you start flooding me w/ emails, please refrain knowing that we are still doing some development work and depending on results may or may not release this product.
Appreciate your patience and understanding!

Thanks,
M2-Motoring 06-21-2008, 08:23 PM you're so sexy mr. sumitomo
zboytroy 06-21-2008, 08:28 PM you're so sexy mr. sumitomo
It's difficult being me w/ stalkers like you out there! Makes one want to go into hiding.
trdsparks 06-21-2008, 10:45 PM Let me know Troy when those are available and I'll get some of them as well. I like to keep options on our site intead of just offering one thing. It looks sweet for sure.
zboytroy 06-22-2008, 06:29 PM Oh crap I need to get these!
Who makes this kit and have they made kits before? Whats the quality like?
Okay, open mouth, insert foot.
Let's try this one more time, shall we? If you are wondering what I'm referring to, well I posted earlier addressing the bodykit! For some idiotic reason I thought this guy was asking about the body kit and not the lights! Silly me! Sorry about that! I really wasn't trying to plug our parts....really! :D
Anyway, I can't say much about this product, in particular, other than this. It is part of Scion's aftermarket catalog program called Optomize which means it had to pass Scion's strict standards. Anyway Sparks is the place to get it!
Again, sorry for the mixup. I'll shut up now and go away now.
tmrepp 06-22-2008, 06:44 PM Any sort of time line put together at this time Troy?
Thanks!
SquallLHeart 06-22-2008, 07:13 PM yea Troy! what's the schedule lookin' like?
and i'm gonna have to say "bleh" on the photochop there.. i've had a little disagreement how optomize has been photochopping stuff in the past...
but rawr!! i want your foggies Troy! :P
ChelsDS 06-22-2008, 08:14 PM Wow now I'm so confused...
The fogs offered by TRD Sparks aren't 5Axis afterall?
The fogs that 5Axis are creating right now are displayed in this picture or those aren't fogs at all?
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u76/zboytroy/FAD_xD_con_04_1920x1200.jpg
trdsparks 06-23-2008, 12:35 AM Your right, I was misinformed and got to be the one to pass this along. The ones from TRDSparks are from Optimize Scion.
TrebleStauter 06-25-2008, 04:57 PM Any progress?
trdsparks 06-25-2008, 05:07 PM Sort of... Scion Optimize is sending me a unit here and I've already had a lot of orders so those have been shipping out too. I expect to get it here this week and I will have the installs put up on the site so everyone can see.
Jamie
tmrepp 06-25-2008, 05:49 PM Awesome...I can't wait. It's about friggin time for fog lights. Sheesh
trdsparks 07-02-2008, 04:45 PM Ok got the kits in now and I scanned and put up the installs on the page so everyone can check it out before buying. Check out the original post for the link to the page and the installs are on the top right in their usual location. Let me know if you have any questions! We've been selling these pretty quickly so I'm ordering more for stock today! I should have these here for no delays when you order.
Jamie
pickledchang 07-02-2008, 09:17 PM a little more in-depth then i thought... but maybe its just the amount of detail in the instructions, lol. anyone else done this install yet? im just a little nervous about the 'trimming material' away part from the bumper. looks awesome though!
Runawayrogue 07-02-2008, 10:35 PM It doesn't look too difficult from a read of the instructions. They are very detailed, so it should be easy enough to follow if you're somewhat mechanically inclined. Unfortunately since they're just scans, I couldn't really make out what needs to be trimmed...
Jamie, do we know if the factory facia bezel can be reinstalled after this trimming?
Also... how much slack does the switch wiring have? I'd rather put the switch on my accessory panel on the center console than drill my dash. It's much cheaper to replace a small plastic piece if you screw it up.
pickledchang 07-03-2008, 06:30 AM yeah, those pictures with the trimming is where i got a little lost, the rest of it looks easy.
ive also got the same idea with the switch going on the center console by the ebrake where they pre-cutouts already are. if the wirings not long enough, it should be easy enough to splice on some longer wires.
Zefoxe 07-03-2008, 04:49 PM Looks good Jamie. Kinda wished they went all out and gave pre-cut trims along with the kit though (I hate measuring and cutting). Oh well better then nothing I suppose.
trdsparks 07-05-2008, 05:39 AM I don't think the wiring would be long enough honestly. But if your handy enough you should be able to get it down there to the center console. Myself I would just leave it, it doesn't look bad at all in my opinion.
Jamie
Runawayrogue 07-07-2008, 06:41 AM I'm just paranoid, that's all! It would make more sense to have the button near the headlight switch, but I hate the idea of drilling the dash when I have an accessory panel.
trdsparks 07-07-2008, 10:24 PM I know what you mean. I just looked at the kit real close and it doesn't look like it would reach for sure. The switch though looks pretty good like it was supposed to be where you install it, it will not look bad at all.
Jamie
rhino74s 07-07-2008, 10:51 PM I think some "real world" pics of it actually installed will help the response. Lots of people want fogs, just gotta see some done first.
TrebleStauter 07-07-2008, 11:16 PM ^^^^^^ I agree completely. I hope to see some good close up pics and install pics.
I want to order these today, but until I see them...
trdsparks 07-07-2008, 11:38 PM We have sold almost all out of our first batch of stock so hopefully some of those people will post pics! Just looking at the kit first hand and the quality of the pieces, its not cheaply made. I'm 100% sure that the end result will be exactly what you see in the pics on the first post.
Jamie
trdsparks 07-07-2008, 11:39 PM Also in case anyone was wondering on bulb type, it comes with the bulbs pre-installed in the housing and they are H8, 35 watts.
Jamie
Zefoxe 07-11-2008, 06:14 PM Any chance whether you know if the lip kit on the RS1 will interfere with the lighting for these Jamie?
ChelsDS 07-11-2008, 10:53 PM I would think the light from the fogs would be hampered from that plastic bar going from either side in that hole on the bumper. I wouldn't suggest putting a fog there because of that.
rhino74s 07-13-2008, 03:34 PM Any chance whether you know if the lip kit on the RS1 will interfere with the lighting for these Jamie?
You won't be able to use any fog lights with the RS1 lip kit.
It completely covers the area these fogs go in.
tmrepp 07-13-2008, 04:46 PM I wanna know if you have to cut the bumper at all...instructions do not state clearly what you have to cut.
Zefoxe 07-14-2008, 05:39 AM from what i read, it seems just unscrew mud guards, unscrew/clip off vent covers, cut the actually vent covers, mount the lights and position em into the new holes and reassemble
TrebleStauter 07-18-2008, 05:00 PM I am still hoping for some pics.
Where are all of the people who snatched these up?
I really hope they look oem. The price is great, I just cant tell from the first post pics if they look right in the vent space.
pickledchang 07-21-2008, 06:47 AM can anyone update with close-up pics yet?
trdsparks 07-22-2008, 03:48 PM from what i read, it seems just unscrew mud guards, unscrew/clip off vent covers, cut the actually vent covers, mount the lights and position em into the new holes and reassemble
Thats what I got out of it too.
VB_xD 07-24-2008, 04:51 AM so, the wire will NOT reach all the way to your center buttons that are cut out? (near the E-brake?)
trdsparks 07-24-2008, 04:25 PM I don't think so, but I don't have a xD to try it on either. Maybe one of the folks that bought the kit could line it up?
pickledchang 07-24-2008, 05:24 PM even if they dont, its really not that difficult to splice in longer sections of wire so it will reach...
oh, and i saw a blue xD in lacey, wa driving with fog lights... was wondering if it was anyone here with the sparks kit.
SeattleGuy 07-25-2008, 01:37 AM Like so many of you folks I'm just dying to see pix of an install! Please!
OleZaya 08-22-2008, 11:09 AM Just ordered this kit and will do an update with some pictures of installation and final look
TrebleStauter 08-22-2008, 09:07 PM Just ordered this kit and will do an update with some pictures of installation and final look
Thank you very much.
pickledchang 08-22-2008, 11:22 PM awesome, thank you!!

Did you by any chance take high-res shots of the materials? I want to see what the kit looks like, or at least some up-close high-res shots of the lights themselves and where they're mounted. How bright are they? Make any difference while driving?
Here is a high res shot of one of the lights installed. The quality is on par with the rest of the car. The foglight uses an H8 bulb, so I guess it is bright as the headlights, I installed Sylvania Silverstar ultra lights the first day I got the car, so I can't compare to stock lights. The foglights 'brighten' up the road in front and illuminate to the sides, but nothing drastic. The Sylvania's were a hughe difference from the stock headlight bulbs.

pickledchang 08-23-2008, 07:56 PM sounds like the install is still a pain in the arse - having to dremel the bumper. they do look nice though!
OPINIONATOR_xD 08-25-2008, 01:16 AM Not my cup of tea but it looks good.
it'd look better if fog was bigger inside the side vents.
my .02cent.
OPINIONATOR_xD 08-25-2008, 01:18 AM are the bezels available separately?
Cylon_xD 08-30-2008, 06:18 AM Not my cup of tea but it looks good.
it'd look better if fog was bigger inside the side vents.
my .02cent.
That was my exact first thought when I saw these, just look too small, they don't fill the recess enough... too much black plastic around them or something... :ponder:
I actually wanted to mount Driving Lights on the top of the bumper, right in front of the top grill, but underneath the plastic bumper skin is just a big block of styrofoam, so nowhere much to go with mounting bolts... Guess I'll do HIDs instead...
drew05 09-15-2008, 03:54 PM i would rock those.
