Which was should I go? I know coil overs are substantially more expensive, but I am not sure what will be different from a ride standpoint. I know with coil overs you can drop your XB variable hights, but is that the only thing? Also how is the ride using springs only, will I have a bumpy ride? will I scrape?

I have Tanabe coilover set.. I really like the fact that I can change the height on my ride at any time. I can have the box lowered or raised within a half hour. The shocks were also made to be be lowered. I don't know how the stock shocks have held up with lowering springs.

I have the Tanabe Df210 springs 2" drop on my stock shocks, I also have 19" rims and It rides fine! I would prob change the shocks after about a year or so to aftermarket though. Springs are cheaper anyways!

the whole idea about coilovers is that the springs and shocks are supposed to be a matched set. meaning they are specifically designed to work with each other. that said you can get the best ride/handling benefits from coilovers as opposed to springs.

however, we do drive a big box, so do we really need that extra performance? the only reason for coils on our boxes is if you really want/need to change your height up often.

I would think that the coilovers are better than springs. It is solely because the shocks and springs are made to work together like several others have already said. I'll be going with either the Tein's or Sustec coilovers when I do mine. Just my .02

the tein coils are better than the sustec and have more adjustablility. both rock tho. i'm goin for bags in a few months or sooner if i can get a new credit card.

nope.. it looks like it'll go about an inch or more lower. haven't brought it all the way down.
