Default Change the bulb in the "oven"?

Has anyone tried to change the bulb in the storage area "oven"? When you open the door, you can see the plastic lense over the bulb. There are two clip-looking things on the lense, but I can't figure out how to remove it to get at the bulb. I was afraid to force anything too hard.

I wish you could turn on the "oven" light while driving.

Ya I'd like to remove that lense and put some red gel caps on the bulb to match my overhead lights. that would be tight... I didnt wanna break the clips either... such a fraidy-cat. anyone figured it out yet?

I just got the car yesterday, and I was looking at that bulb last night. I can't really tell if it's an amber bulb behind a clear lense, or a clear bulb behind an amber lense. I hope the lense is clear. That way, if I ever figure out how to remove it, I can put in different color bulbs. If I figure it out, I'll post it here.

I wired mine to my LEDs inside so that i can turn it on with the LEDs on the same switch. My LEDs are red and the RS1 storage box is red, so it looks nice when i turn it on.

You need to take the center console apart, which is very easy...

1. Pry the silver strips on the left and right off (carefully!)
2. Unscrew the two (maybe 4?) screws that hold the "oven" in place
3. Pull it out, you'll see a little wire going into the top of the box
4. Unscrew (half turn) the light bulb connector, and you'll see the bulb and a stupid yellow cover. Remove/discard cover and replace (I bought one of those pure-white bulbs at Walmart and it looks awesome!)
5. Do everything in reverse, and enjoy!

See, that's my problem.....step #1 scares the crap outta me. I don't want to break something on my brand-new car.

its easy, snap the 2 clips that hold the console together out on the bottom, and slowly move the silver strips on each side until they come off, they snap in and out no worries! i remember being worried when i did mine but its quite easy.

Yeah, I thought I was gonna do it wrong too... I recommend starting at the bottom and kinda pushing the bottom part up, it should then pop out and the rest of the strip will follow.

Yep, very easy to take apart. I used a blue bulb cover (aka condom) resulting in a teal-colored light. I did the ceiling lights the same way and it makes for a good effect. I thought it would be temporary and I'd eventually use blue bulbs, but I actually enjoy the hue and like that I can still see...real blue bulbs are a bit dark and don't help much when you drop your keys in the floor.

cool pics! It would be very helpful. I was thinking how to connect the storage "oven" light to the CD player, so when the CD player is on, the "oven" will ON also. OR If it is too hard to do, a custom button connect to the "oven" light allows me to ON or OFF the light will be cool also. OR even when I turn on the ignition, the "oven" light will turn on as well. Does anyone know how to do one of the suggestion? Thanks a lot mikochu.

run a wire that is tapped into any wire that has power once the cd player is on or whenever the ign is on. just use that wire instead of the stock power wire for those lights
