i think we want a reliable product that delivers proven performance (with dyno results), at a reasonable price, that is easy to install, doesn't sound ricey, and is fully supported and guaranteed by a reputable company that can post coherently with proper english and grammar, so we don't think we're buying products made in some high-school dropout's back yard. but that's just my opinion. ;)

sorry, thought I was just shooting the ____. Ok what I want to know is, If a company came out with a exhaust for the tC what would be the price point they would expect? If you spend 18k on your car are you going to spend $ 700-800 for a cat back , would you rather just do a rear section for around $400. We all know that people want HP gains and a good co. name behind the product and carb legal if definatley a must.So let me know what you guys would like to see in exhaust for a TC. thanks

I see full catbacks for EX Civics for less than 500 for high quality stuff. HKS rear sections for for 250 for the Civic.

That car's the same price as a base tC. If I were to buy another exhaust, I'd expect those prices. If not, I have a good welder, and with my sponsorship, can get some pretty cheap prices on HKS, Espelir, Apexi, Greddy, Injen, and more...

i'd prolly pay 600 tops for a really good cat back. and i'd only pay that much as long as it didn't sound ricey, i want a nice deep tone, borla has always sounded good

I don't think "axle back" exhaust should retail for more than $300 IMO. I know there's alot of companies out there trying to sell their exhaust at premium price...but i don't think it's worth the $400-600 price range for a simple axle back...especially when u're getting no performance gain.

Realistic price should be $270 or less IMO and maintain nice throaty sound with high gloss polished finish.

For a catback... a reasonable price should be $500 or less for premium name brand.

I completely agree. I don't want to hear that civics are sold more, so since there is a larger market they are less expensive. The only real fluctuation in price that can be justified IMO is having to use more or different materials(i.e. making it out of titanium instead of stainless steel). Engineering, research and development should take approximately the same amount of time for each similar product.

In short, make a quality cat-back exhaust in the $4-500 price range, and you have me sold.

You really need all the styles you talked about. I will definitly be doing the whole exhaust, including headers but until i save some more money and let my warranty stay in effect for at least 15,000 miles i will just be using an axle back system, i ordered a Ractive can w/removable silencer that will be used for the next year, there probably wont be any performance gains but it will drop about 25 lbs and open up the rear underneath of my car for looks also it will sound a hell of a lot better than the extremely quiet stock setup, That is all some people care about, The Sound!
Ractive cans do not sound ricey but ill let you know the main reason im getting it is because i can get any of them for $100.00 through my friends shop, also i have had good expereince w/Ractive

i think borla would be your best bet, they have done work with toyota for many years and are the oldest and most reputable company in the exhaust business(i saw a small interview at SEMA)

Meineke muffler has been running an ad for cat back dual exhaust system for $350...

Not suggesting it, just for comparison...
