Default Kicker L5

I'm thinking about getting a Kicker solobaric L5 for my XB. I have enough power to drive either one 15 or one 12. Should I go with the 12 because it hits quicker, or is that an old wives tale? I would have a solid 400 watts powering either one. Also would a sealed box be OK with these? Or do I need to go ported?

depends on what you want, if your going for sq then sealed, but if you want sq don't get kicker anyway. if you want spl, go with a ported box, and kicker should be fine. if your only going to get one, I would go with a 15"

I have 2 12" L7s at 1200 watts, I blow them every so often, maybe you are using a cheap amp that is over rated

I would go with the 12 inch. I have one, but not installed in the box yet. Couple more months, it will be installed. Can't wait!

A snailshell box? what is that?
It sounds like the 15 is the way to go.

Pops haven't sent my DVD Receiver, amp wire kits, capacitor, tax return to spend for the installation, the enclosure for the amps/sub. Plus, I haven't installed the dynamat in yet either. Another couple of weeks, that will be done. Gotta crawl before ya walk :D

doubtful maybe your settings are incorrect and distortion blows your speakers....hifonics NX750D 750rms @ 1ohm so i said 600 rms being on the safe side

i have two S15L7's with a 1200 cont. to them in a sealed enclosure, and haven't had a problem yet... other then having to tighten my spoiler ever week.

IMO as for 400watts to one or the other i would get the 12" L5 in a sealed box.
