hey everyone, i might install a zpi stage 0 on my car


i know that it does not come with the intercooler, but

can it be really run without tuning?
do u guys remember how much the kit was brand new?
what were the dyno numbers with exhaust system?
upsides?
downsides?
any potential with the kit?

No. Never run a F/I car on the factory N/A tune.

I've been running w/o emanage. My biggest fail ever.

but, to answer
1- If you stick with OEM injectors, ehhhh
2- 2200
3- around 220-230
4- great small turbo
5- i ran at 10 psi on accident once and now i need to lower my psi to 4 so i dont blow the seal anymore than it is (thats what im hoping)
6- much potential.

no, besides the turbo seal, but i doubt that was the tuning. but

it depends... you can run it on really low boost fine... granted w/ o tune... but you'll be running rich as hell, so the mpg's will suck!!!

 

considering it was the first official kit out on the tC, and there were nothing but threads about it, its numbers, costs, tuning, etc being posted forever.. you should be able to search and find your answers

TT was making an IC kit for the Stage 0. I know he has stopped doing the manifolds for the Stage 0, but he may be able to get you an intercooler kit

 

anyone else ever run this kit without management?

 

I know there has to be a few on here. I think one guy ran it without management and injecotrs and he had to have new rings installed. I think his name is soulquarian or something along those lines

Manifold possible cracking or Warping. (Mine Warped)

The turbo seals are ____ty.

Make sure you have a Copper WG Gasket.

Constantly check for leaks, spikes, oil in the turbo etc....

I ran the stage 0 un-tuned for about........5 months and suprisingly when I finally got my Wideband installed I was reading 11.5-12.1 AFR's on WOT. Partial Throttle was 14.7 as dezod stated but I sold the black box that could of solved that problem anyway.

Ive learned my lesson, INTERCOOLER IS A MUST HAVE!

Upsides - Spools very fast little 16g that could lol. Instaboost!, Will bring your TC into the 13.9 range with a 2.5" exhaust. Probably 205whp 230crank power @ 6lbs.

Downsides - Engine after racing is like as hot as a jet engine. Open wastegate without tube dirty's engine bay. Tuning is Expensive. (granted mine ran perfect with no injectors or tune.) Gas Mileage drops. Without the black box and partial throttle tuning you'll be in like 1-3psi boost just normal driving it gets very aggrivating.
