is there a DIY thread on how to change your springs?
i have friends that are mechanics but i would like to get an idea on how it works so i can help them too.

you dont need to do a alignment if you just change out the springs right?

http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=89766 Check out the buyers guide on springs.

With that modest of a drop, you won't need to change your shocks/struts.

You will need to get an alignment.

As for the DIY, this is the only one I can find:

trdsparks.com would usually be one of the best. Looks like they're about $176 to my door. Should be close.

Install guide for Hotchkis Springs but the process is the same as any other spring. Just don't follow the step where they tell you to install the new bump stop.

You shouldn't... no. Just be sure to get it aligned after a week or so. I say a week just in case they need to settle a little.

Typically around here a 4 wheel alignment runs about $60. But it will be necessary.
