This is a cool opportunity to have your car looked over by a cutting edge suspension tuner.
Here's the deal. I used to own Miatas (which are often lowered, but don't have a lot of suspension travel to take advantage of). There is a company in the SFO area which is WELL known by the Miata crowd - they sell tuned suspensions and components, but are especially well known for their bumpstops. Doesn't matter what kind of suspension folks put on their Miatas, chances are if the bumpstops aren't "cut" they are FCM (FatCat Motorsports) products.
Anyway - after buying my xD and deciding to lower it, I went to FCM to see if they offered anything for Scion. Turns out they just developed a Yaris kit with the help of a west coast Yaris enthusiast.
In talking with the owner of FCM, there seems to be a good chance that a xD specific bumpstop kit could easily be developed (possibly more). What FCM needs, however, is someone with a xD to swing by their shop so the owner can examine the suspension setup. I'm on the east coast or I would JUMP at the chance to have my car looked over by a leading suspension tuner. This guy is a class act and has taken personal time up to this point to help answer my questions. Now things are getting serious.
Is anyone interested in spending a couple of hours at FCM's shop to have your suspension examined? You could be an integral part of having some worthwhile performance parts developed. I have nothing invested in this besides being able to buy the end product.
Let me know if you'd be interested in being part of this interesting project.
