View Full Version : 08 xb spring drop eilbach or hotchkiss rcdemon1 07-03-2008, 09:51 PM eilbach, hotchkis.anyone have the info on what lb springs they each use. i have the hotchkis on the car and my tires are barely rubbing in the front and the rear its to mushy. are the eilbach's stiffer springs. CIONIDE 07-04-2008, 02:53 AM What size tires & wheels (including offset) do you have? If you're rubbing on hotchkis springs, your likely options are to change springs to a milder drop, or change wheels. Knowing your tire/wheel specs will help me answer the question. xseveredveganx 07-04-2008, 03:12 AM ...change springs to a milder drop... NOOOOO!!!! i just installed hotchkis springs on my 08 box. im running 19x8.5 with 45 offset, tires are 235x35x19s. do i need to get the camber, caster and toe in readjusted?im getting a slight rub in the front. do i need caster camber adapter plates.or is my offset wrong. Just for you, CIONIDE!!! Let the guru do his thing! :P CIONIDE 07-04-2008, 03:25 AM NOOOOO!!!! He's got to change something! I'd rather see it low, but springs are a lot cheaper than new tires & wheels. :lalala: COILOVERS!! All problems solved!! :money: xseveredveganx 07-04-2008, 03:42 AM Heck, just check out the thread. Pictures would most definitely help... Ninja edit.. Thread: http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=228569 CIONIDE 07-04-2008, 04:03 AM Didn't remember the other thread... If you're barely rubbing on the front, then 225/35 tires will probably solve that issue. But when it comes to solving the "mushiness" issue, I repeat: COILOVERS!! Thanks vegan. BTW, what was "severed"? rcdemon1 07-04-2008, 05:11 PM thanks for all the answers. im on 235/35 19 tires. the rims are 19 8.5s. you know how bad the roads are in los angles.i was thinking that the hotchkis front springs drop the car 1.4 and the eilbach drop it 1,2 mabe that .2 will make the difference. mabe the answer is coil overs. but dosn't that make the ride hard? and who makes the best coil overs. DAILYXB-TYPE-R 07-04-2008, 11:18 PM i wouldn't say really who makes the best coil overs set. it just depending on your own prefference if you want more track or street and what you willing to pay for. i'm still waiting for more sets to come out and see the pricing before i buy something. rcdemon1 07-05-2008, 04:23 PM there are pics in my gallery..... |
