View Full Version : Please post your tire sizes and pics!
QuestionMark 12-08-2004, 05:37 PM Alright folks, I have been trying to do a search on different tire sizes and how they look on specific wheel sizes. Most of the other topics either want lowering pics or wheel pics. I need tire pics! I am curious to know how one manfacturer/size looks and performs compared to another.
Our XB will soon to be dropped on Tanabe DF210 springs and riding on 18x7.5 rims with +38 offset. I am debating on 215/35/18 (love the look but may be a bit too thin for my lady to be driving), 215/40/18 and 225/35/18 (haven't seen how both of these looked) and 225/40/18 (which many say is a no-no because of problems with rubbing and speedometer readings).
If y'all could help me out that would be great. Thanks!
squirrel 12-08-2004, 06:08 PM Mark, I would stay away from 225/40-18s. Way too tall unless you stay at stock height. I would maybe go with 215/40-18 if you don't want to go with 215/35-18. Call Auto Innovations in Milpitas and ask Steve or Orlando. Tell them I referred you. I go there for my tire and wheel needs.
QuestionMark 12-08-2004, 06:36 PM I like the wider footprint of the 225/40 but figured it may be too tall. I know I don't plan on staying stock height. I know there are a few folks running 225/40 but i've only seen a couple pictures.
I'll try Auto Innovations to see what kind of numbers they offer. Thanks for the info Brad!
squirrel 12-08-2004, 07:29 PM Mark, I'm running 225/40-18s on my Matrix and they are waaaaay too tall for the xB.

Ya, it's going to have to be 215/35 or 215/40. I would definetely go for the 35s but this is my lady's commuter ride from Newark to San Jose. She's not the type to scan the road ahead for any potholes or road construction.

Nice ride! Have you rolled on both 215/40 and 215/35? Only asking cause in this post you have on the 215/40s and you are selling the 215/35s. Any difference in ride quality?

i'm running 18" x 7.5" Konig MP3 rims with Essenza 215/35/18 tires
the offset was a little high, +45. currently no spacers in the front, no rubbing lock to lock, and 20mm spacers in the rear. I haven't lowered it yet (soon, soon) but either Tanabe Df's or Tien S-Tech's will be on. I have 10mm spacers for the front just in case. :D
the_saint 12-09-2004, 06:34 PM Imagestation=poopoo
That being said...those are teh hotness. :D I'd prefer the orginal Advans, but it still looks great w/the Konigs.
Deff needs a drop tho'

I think this is what you wanted to post... I'm not into the tri-spoke design but it doesnt look bad.

violent_b 12-10-2004, 12:16 AM thanks for the pic post (stupid imagestation). the center caps I made, the original has only the beauty ring so you can see the lugs and the hub/spindle and I didn't like that. took some 1/8" plexy and painted it, glued it into place and ta-da. I had to paint the calipers/drums because you could see so much. I think it came out good.
now, for that x-mas list
springs, new rotors, intake...
