I am still breaking in my new xD. I have about 260 miles on it. I noticed the cold coolant light comes on and stays on for about the first minute when I am driving the car for the first time in a day.
I read through the owner's manual, but didn't see anything one way or the other if this was normal or not.
It goes off after about a minute of driving. Then subsequent starts during the same day do not show it back on.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

Are you sure its the coolant light and not the oil light? Typically the oil light will stay on for no more than 2 minutes. It just means that you should be driving cautiously until that light goes off.
Doesn't mean anything is wrong for your car :)

No, it's the low engine coolant light. I got my manual back out and it's listed on pg 100.
It says on pg 101:
If your enigine coolant temperature is cool with the engine switch on, the low engine coolant temp indicator light comes on. If it keeps lighting on with the engine fully warmed, contact your Scion dealer.
Guess its nothing to worry about? :relief: I just wondered if others had this come on too.
Thanks!

I think you might be looking at the green low coolant TEMP light. It comes on for the first few minutes to remind you not the over rev the engine until it is up to temp.

Mine does the same thing, and it's completely normal! Mine has 56 miles on it! LOL

It is normal. I have to drive around the block before getting on the freeway every morning just to warm it up enough that the light goes off.
