Benefits of living so close to an awesome race track:

Today was the Koni Challenge race at Watkins Glen... which just happens to be about 20 minutes from my door (tomorrow is the Indy race too, which I'll be attending as well). But as many of you know, there's a new contender in the the Koni series...

Wait a sec... what is that?!





A prototype TRD intercooler?! Yessir! I got to talk Craig Stanton for a little bit too. Cool guy. He was saying they're basically testing it for TRD and they're considering doing a production run of it (as I think has been rumored for years now). But he was saying it lowered their intake temps from like 220 deg to about 150 something. So it makes quite a difference. They were running the 12lb pulley from NST.

Oh ya... I fit!







Unfortunately I think they wrecked a little more than halfway through. Not sure what happened but I saw front and rear damage. And they ran about 2 laps like that and I didn't see it anymore. Oh well I guess. Here's another pic of it in action:

He just said over 200whp but nothing specific. Keep in mind the s/c itself will give you nearly 200whp but the 12lb pulley will add even more to that. And I really don't know what kind of increase the intercooler would give. He said they're using it just for bringing the intake temp down but didn't say what kind of hp it actually gave.

Lucky duck! The IC on the tC has been rumored for a while, I think there's a whole thread on it somewhere. I don't think it's cost-effective to produce for consumers
