Hi gang,

I have the sirius factory system in my 08 xB. I bought it through Sparks, and installed myself. I'm getting more cutouts in the music than I think I should I installed exactly as instructed, with the sat antenna behind the roof antenna. Is this unit at all adjustable for sensitivity? I know tree cover is prevalent now, but I still think I shouldn't get so many drops. Ideas?

It isn't adjustable, no. But ti definitely sounds like there is a problem. The only time mine ever cut out was when I would go under overpasses on the freeway. Trees shouldn't affect it.

there's no setting you can really play with. your best bet is to play with antenna location, although the location you have it in now is about as good as you're gonna get.

Thanks for the replys, guys.

I seem to get drops when I'm under heavy tree cover, but sometimes I also get a "No Signal" screen for several seconds when changing channels, before the new channel starts actually playing. This doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes.

That sucks. I've got a TOY-SC1/SCC1 plugged into the back of my premium head unit and my antenna (a really good one from an old Starmate) mounted on the back of the roof and I think I very rarely get drop outs. There have been some threads on Sirius Backstage about the newer, circular antennas failing due to corrosion inside. Which antenna do you have? Which satellite tuner?

My antenna is the stock adhesive one that goes behind the factory radio antenna. It's pretty big. The tuner is the one that comes from the Toyota OEM kit. Not sure of the part number.
