Default Scion tC HISSING SOUND

Ive had my automatic tC for about 2 years now and its always made a quiet hissing sound whenever i hit the gas or slowly let off the gas. i never really thought much of it until i recently installed an air intake and now its even louder. i have never heard another car do this. is it anything to worry about? what could it be?

you must really push the car hard then...
i barely hear anything...highest i went was 4krpm and i still hear nothing. after i break in about 5k miles into the motor i'll start pushing the car too.

is it me or the stock air box is like a CAI hybrid?

what a newbie. i'd love to meet the people that asked you if your car was turbo... EVERY after market cai makes a whistle sound. the cheaper one's tend to be louder for some reason. which one do you have?

Ok what. He clearly said it made the hissing sound before he installed the CAI. Way to try smart and own yourself.

My car doesn't make the hissing sound and thank God it doesn't because I'd hate it.

all tc's make that hissing sound... they have an airbox with a snorkle.

its the sound it makes when it is sucking in air...

5k is way past the break in point for the motor.
and when you break it in you should be varying your RPM's anyways.
as long as your not goin WOT all the way to redline everytime.

and to the OP like i already said.
its your intake.
even the stock one makes noise.
the aftermarket CAI's and SRI's just make it even louder.
your fine.

RUN! ITS FULL OF SNAKES!

or else it could be the factory design of the throttle body has a small hole that creates a slight whistle sound. Either or.
