Heya guys (and gals? haven't read any posts from some yet, but I'm new),

I know I'm not going crazy, but wanted your confirmation of that please.

I took the car in to Toyota to get a couple accessories once they arrived in (keyless, floormats, auto dimming mirror [wife wanted it :p]), and when they were done, the moonroof doesn't work as it used to anymore.

I swear it used to be one-touch open and close, with being able to stop it in between if you wanted, but now I have to hold the button to open it and close it and it stops moving the second I take my finger off.

Went straight back as soon as I discovered this, but the guy's trying to feed me some line about how that's the way it is and the manual is written poorly, but I know I'm right.

He's going to check into it and I'm calling him up Friday, so I just wanted to check with you guys to make sure I'm not insane.

Thanks!

I had an 03 corolla and have a04 matrix, both sunroofs were not one touch. they worked just like you describe now, gotta keep your finger on the button all the way open and up, and when you close it even with your finger on the button it stops half way closed and you have to repress the button.

I can't imagine that the xA sunroof is different, I'm assuming you have the rs1 xA cause its the only one that comes standard with a sunroof.

i guess the RS1 is a one tough system so if you do ahve one it should work. if it is aftermarket, most of those are also one touch systems. I would take it back and have the dealership look at it again.

The moonroof on my RS1.0 is one-touch open and close.

If I want it to slide back on my xA RS 1.0 I just touch it once... If I want it to slide forward and shut, I touch it once... If I want it to tilt forward, I have to hold it... If I want it to tilt back dow and shut, I have to hold it...

Hope this helps!

Good luck!

Thanks guys! Just like I thought.

Now to call the dealer.

Got a solution and wanted to pass it on in case others want to try it on theirs or in case it should stop working for anyone else.

He told me to reprogram it by opening it all the way, then holding the close button until it closes and continuing to hold it for about 5 seconds longer after that. Worked like a charm, and back to normal.

Thanks again for the replies.

I had the same thing happen after taking mine in for security/remote lock installation. The moonroof stopped functioning correctly because power to it had been disconnected (necessary during security installation). The reprogramming of the moonroof is actually contained in the owner's manual under the moonroof section.

Oops! Read the moonroof section, but missed the reprogramming part. Thanks for the heads up, xFactor.
