Default Going to look at a tC tonight - What should I take notice of

One my dealers finally got in a tC that I can take a look at. It's not the color I wanted (it's white and I want flint mica) nor is it my transmission preference (it's 5-speed and I'm tired of driving my current 5-speed).

So... if I like the look of the tC and they give me a good package (trade-in value and interest rate) I'll most likely order an automatic flint mica tC.

But, when I go to see the white one tonight, what should I take notice of? What impressed you the most? What is important for me to look at to make sure I will enjoy this car for many, many years? (I plan to have this car at least 10 years)

Thanks!

- John

honestly, it depends on your personality...something that is important to me may not be to you, vice-versa.
but for me it was just the "advanced" look of the interior..it just looks so modern. that sold me on the car. now all the stuff under the hood, i could care less about, i care more about the "look" but all the looks of the car you can see online soo....you have to see how your "feel" sitting in it. i think you will like it alot. i have the flint mica, and the color is awesome...good luck!

see if you can drive this one as well as an auto tC. they made the gearing a lot less aggressive in the auto, so it might not be anywhere near as much fun to drive. otherwise make sure you fit in it, that the seat belt doesn't catch you uncomfortably on the neck, and that the controls are all relatively easy to get to. other than that, have fun drivng it!

omg, I've been waiting for a white 5-speed for 2 months now! I've passed on dark gray, and just passed on dark blue yesterday.

sofakng, where is this dealer at, if you don't mind letting me know.

FYI: I have an automatic flint mica tC. It is VERY quick, especially from a dead stop, and loads of fun to drive, especially on the highway. The automatic also has a much tighter factory rear sway bar for some reason. I have had mine for about 4 1/2 months now, and I still absolutely love it. Take note of the ride, the acceleration, and the cornering ability of the tC -- I think you will be happy.

If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me!

Well, unfortunately I can't drive a manual and an automatic... my dealer only has the manual (it just came in this morning). Also, I'm getting married next year and my fiance doesn't want to drive a stick-shift, so I'm pretty much stuck getting the automatic transmission no matter what

The dealer I'm talking about is Independence Toyota in Hazleton, PA. The Scion representitive there is VERY friendly.

well, lots of things are pretty cool. the stock mp3 playing head unit (though it's not perfect to me), the reclining back seats and the copious amounts of space (sacrifices cargo capacity for more rear passenger space). cool sunroof (though a lot of other manufacturers are picking up on things like that). decent power/torque. great price. yeah, it all depends on what you're looking for. i found it to be the best mixing of cost/power/comfort/features/aesthetics.

just convince your girl that chics that drive manuals get +13 hot points. that will throw her into a higher bracket of hotness. something about girls that drive a stick is just cool. white isn't a bad color at all. i've seen many niiiiiice white tcs. you know you don't want to wait anymore. drive it off the lot tonight, you won't regret it.

check out the glovebox, it can hold 3 packs of cigarettes in it's own little spot. that's what sold me on the car.

I have a friend who says that as well...personally, I don't get it...it does nothing for me.

I'm going to take a guess here, but I think it's the whole hand on the stick thing...

Anyways, a hot girl in a hot car is just as hot regardless of the transmission type

Check out the rear seats. I know, there's "lack of headroom", but they recline which is pretty kickass. There's also cupholders back there which I found out after buying one.

If you take the headrests off of the front seats, you can slide the seats all the way up, recline them all the way back, and they lay down flat with the back seat making a little bed for you, which I thought was pretty cool.

Also, take a look at all the dealer options you can buy for the car

The nice extras I noticed after buying: DC outlet in the armrest, headlights turn off once you open the door even if you leave them on, ~30 extra seconds of window/sunroof power to close them after turning the key off.
The minor annoyances: no pause button on CD player, flimsy sunroof shades and cargo cover, cruise control light only indicates it's on, not whether it's engaged. Quite a short list.
