Well i didn't have a truck and was helping my girlfriend move her stuff to a new apartment. I had a rack and thought, well you know we could probably move the couch (which is the only item we needed a truck to move) .. Guess again. This is a the Econo-Box mover.

Nope i used some ratchet tie downs. it was solid. it didn't shift at all. of course i didn't drive a lick over 40 mph.

 

I wonder what other drivers were thinking when they saw that sofa on that xb of yours...

 

it was hilarious. my gf poked fun and said you don't need a truck to move a couch to onlookers.

 

ha! I've only moved things that fit inside- a dozen bags of mulch, hundreds of pounds of books, grill, lawn mower, leaf shredder/chipper, everything from my condo that would fit. No bed, couch, dresser though. I guess I just needed to think outside the box and get a roof rack...

 

yeah i put a fully built desk in my car before. i had to put my seat all the way forward for it to fit.

No i went on a major road though that was 40 mph max. free way no. although i'm debating whether to go to IKEA in sacramento and loading up a new couch

 

my girlfriend and I dead lifted that couch though. it was tough. the toughest had to be the 14 inch thick queen mattress. felt twice as heavy going on the rack.

 

naw, the $$ in gas to get there and back makes it now where purchasing a more expensive couch at a closer location to you the most financially friendly route.

 

The couch is almost bigger then the car.

 

Nice. I haven't attempted a couch yet, but I've moved arm chairs and a file cabinet on the inside.
