got my trd springs installed yesterday and had the alignment checked today. what a great mod. i can really feel the difference when cornering, and the drop makes the car look even better. i didn't measure it, but the drop looks like more than i thought it would be. i love it.

only one issue...i saw someone else post about this and i noticed it too: it seems like the drop is a bit lower on my driver's side rear wheel than any of the others. odd.

How's the ride? Do you feel like you have to be careful to avoid hitting things in the road, or scraping when you pull into driveways, etc.? Thanks!

what did they say about your alignment? My car felt fine after the spring install but still had the alignment checked out just to be 100% sure. They told me everything was peachy. Made my day. I also thought the drop looks better than expected.

Maybe it could be a little lower on the rear drivers side wheel because of how the gas tank sits in the car? Nah thats stupid!

I think your just looking at your car when it is on a slight angle i have TRD springs and mine looks the same all around when parked on a flat surface, But there are barely any flat surfaces!

its your eyes playing tricks one you!

All the TRD aftermarket parts are awesome :!:

while i obviously haven't had them on for that long, i do regularly encounter some rough roads (downtown denver has some bad streets). to get in and out of the parking lot at my apartment i have to go up/down a rather steep entrance, and that hasn't scraped at all. also, the speed bumps in the parking garage by my office didn't scrape at all. i'll obviously try to be careful, but it doesn't look like scraping will be a problem. the ride is great :)

they said my toe was a bit off...enough to have needed it checked in hindsight :)

also, in case anyone is interested, how much the springs cost me:

springs: $115 (that's including shipping) from mcgeorges
install: $170 (i didn't go to the dealer....my dealer wanted $350 just for the labor)
alignment: $50
total: $335

also a little more info, your car will settle once you ride on your springs for a while so if you think it is low now, just wait , everything will even out and you will have a sweet looking car.

Do you guys think the trd suspension package at mcgeorge is a good deal?

you get:
trd springs
trd shocks
trd rear sway bar

for $495 with free shipping

im thinking about getting that for a xmas present..good deal??

Obey...that is an awesome price...i think the TRD shocks alone are $450! Who gave you that price?

obey, i think that that is a great deal. but i have been looking at mcgeorges constantly, and their prices have been fluctuating on and off. the cheapest i have seen the "combo" deal from mcgeorges was 480 shipped. however, the cheapest i have ever seen the combo in general was on ebay for 450 shipped. you may want to check ebay.

I bought from mcgeorge's and got mine just a couple days later. 480 including shipping, shocks, struts, and springs. Dealer wanted to charge 550 for install! Crazy f**kers. Took it to a local customization shop that does work for West Coast Customs (pimp my ride). 200 bucks. yay.

Initial impression: WOW

Much tighter, looks better. Tomorrow will install the rear sway on race setting. Can't wait for it to settle.

Yeah, when I had the sway bar installed, they asked me if I wanted it set up for the street or track. I had no clue what the difference was, so I just said "Street". What's the difference? And is it easy to change?

Also, after getting the springs installed, you have to watch out for curbs, in parking lots for example. If you pull up too close to them, your front end will scrape. Also watch out for curbs on the side when parallel parking.

race setting is more aggressive. so.. less body roll. when i install mine, im going for race.

If you love and enjoy to drive your tC alot, race is better and gives better advantage. Street just improve less compared to race. that's all. So you you want to get the FULL PERFOMANCE of the bar, get race, but the ride is stiffer, otherwise, get street.

Hey guys great info.. I put the TRD Springs and Rear Sway bar on a week ago and put about 300 miles on it before I had the alignment done. I wanted the springs to settle. Does anyone know what the specs are?? How much weight added before the springs allow one inch of travel??

I lowered my car last Friday. Work took about 6 hours total (and another 6 because I painted my calipers) You can chech it out on the mid atlantic forum.
-Yes changing it from street to track is easy, if you have a jack you can do it youself (i.e. remove the tire and get some air tools.
-my TRD shocks, springs, and rear sway are from Sparks Toyota (as advertised on this website) for $490 shipped. Best deal I found, and it was here in 4 days.
-as far as alignment, I didnt get it done, but plan on it after Christmas.
-lucas9000...All you replaced was your springs? Why not the whole kit? Anyone know the stats on how bad that is for your car? (bottoming out?) and your install was $170? If you lived closer I could have suggested someone to do it for you for next to nothing.

springs rock. i took the @n@l fisting from my dealer, just because i wasn't an informed consumer.
screw me once, shame on you
screw me twice, shame on me...

im interested in the strut and rear sway. just can't justify replacing shocks, stock is fine!

scions rule.

Sept that whole traveling thing, bottoming out, and what not.... I think its better just to swap the whole set, makes more sense to me.

i haven't experienced any of those problems. i've had them on for ~2500 miles and have encountered all sorts of bumps and curbs. i've thrown the car into tight turns and really tested out the travel.
no problema, chica!

i didn't do the other parts (shocks, etc) at the same time because i've read numerous people on here say that the trd springs were fine with the stock shocks. the trd springs don't drop it enough to really require new shocks.

next to nothing would have certainly been better than $170 :)

I'm a do it yourselfer so, next to nothing becomes nothing plus the cost of alignment.

Who knows the cheapest place to buy the TRD shocks/springs combo? I already have the rear swaybar. I could use the front strut bar.

Cheapest? anyone?
