Default It's the law: No sagging pants in Chicago suburb

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080720/..._underwear_law

LYNWOOD, Ill. - Be careful if you have saggy pants in the south Chicago suburb of Lynwood. Village leaders have passed an ordinance that would levy $25 fines against anyone showing three inches or more of their underwear in public.

Eugene Williams is the mayor of Lynwood. He says young men walk around town half-dressed, keeping major retailers and economic development away. He calls the new law a hot topic.

Young adults in the village, like 21-year-old Joe Klomes, say the new law infringes on their personal style. He says lea

crazy law ...

makes me think though... is there a law saying you can't walk around in just boxers? they are basically just shorts after all and there isnt anything illegal about shorts. so why should showing these "shorts" under the pants your wearing be illegal? its not like there butt is showing or anything

then agian i don't really like seeing these stupid kids undies ether so id have no problems with the law if i lived there haha ...

I think this just falls under indecent exposure, and rightly so. If you feel the need to show the general public your undapants, you're going to be punished for your mental handicap.

And where the ____ does the ACLU get off playing the race card? Last time I checked, black people weren't the only ones wearing underwear in Chicago.

My only problem is: It starts with something like "No saggy pants". Then it turns into: No certain shirts, or no certain colors. Next thing you know, we live in Russia.

Just something to think about...

Well thats what this country is headed towards but Im all for this law nationwide lol. Its just so ridiculous what a lot of people think looks good nowadays. I saw a guy the other day washing his "Impala" on 22"s and the waist of his shorts was just above his knees!!! No joke... I dont see how they keep them on. Maybe some velcro??? LMAO!

So who wants to fight it here?

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/localne...0912saggy.html

If I were a bit younger, I'd say go to this suburb with a "baggy pants" day. I don't like the fad either, but it's not the government's right to say what you have to wear. And now that a precedence has been set, this would be a great opportunity for someone to take a stand here.
