how do you guys determine what offsets are needed for rims for our cars, when thinking about purchasing some?

please reffer to this link

most of the listed wheel size offset are from members who have tried it.

thanks dj! does anyone know if the offset will have anything to do with how much of a drop i want? another words, if i lower so low or so high do i need to change the offset accordingly? or if i do i just need to get the "correct" offset for a wheel to make sure it doesn't curve in and out, and that lowering your car has nothing to do with it?

if you keep within the 1 -2 inch lowering springs
your offset should be fine
this one is a common wheel set up
17x7.5 . . . . . . . 40 . . . . . . . . . . . . . 215/40-17

go to this site
http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html
input your original spec
input your new spec
then physically determine if you have enough space in/out
