im buying an exhaust and i want suggestions
i will be purchasing an exhaust for my 2009 tc within the next couple of weeks (after i get my next paycheck
). as of right now i am between a magnaflow and an injen exhaust (both of which are catback).
if anyone has any comments or suggestions concerning what exhaust i should get they would be much appreciated.
if you dont feel like commenting at least respond on the poll. im looking for as much feedback as i can get before i spend my money on this.
i currently have a trd cold air intake
exhaust preferences:
-i definitely want a catback
-i want a little more sound, but nothing obnoxiously loud
-prefereably nothing much more than $525 (willing to spend more if its worth it)

um dude the injen is not a catback. Its axleback it connects to your stock midpipe. Your correct with the magnaflow though. I would look at the skunk2 catback, megan driftspec, or aganecy power. the Megan is 2.5" which is fine for forced induction if your going thta route. Alota F/I peopl will say P-tunign 3"inch exhaust. it is a great exhasut i just dont liek the looks. But i wouldnt recommend getting the p-tuning put on until the t/c or s/c is installed. Hope this info helps ya. GL wiht your decision it hasnt been an easy one for me and i still dont know.
ty for info on injen. i looked at pics of it and it looked like it came with midpipe, but apparently i was mistaken.
i dont plan on gettin t/c or s/c. as of right now thats too much investment into my car.
for a n/a engine i hear that 2.25" is best pipe width (correct me if i am mistaken again).
i also definitely dont want a skunk2 cause those are are too loud for my taste. i guess for loudness of sound i would have to say something like a tanabe concept g, except that i want a catback
more feedback please. it is all appreciated

Well your stock piping is 2.25 so yea its fine n/a but bumping it up to 2.5 is fine. You could also go custom if there is a good muffler shop in your area. they are usually cheaper or compariably priced. But you could buy the injen and then get a custom midpipe made which is not costly and you could get a resonator put in as well in case you wanna get headers and an s-pipe down the road.
I have a trd cai as well, just installed the magnaflow catback today. I really like it, nice and quiet at idle and just enough sound when you push it. Installation was easy, except the bolts on the stock exhaust were all seized so I had to cut it while it was still on the car.
