Theres also K-Sport coilovers. I would look into some of the lower body arms that are available for the Yaris (C-One, Beatrush) as these do a lot for handling.
Greddy is coming out with a catback system soon, might wanna see how that turns out.
Don't forget hacking away that interior, gonna need that for autox ;P Might also want to talk to M2 motoring about a rollcage also.
Also still waiting on CF goodies from AIT and TurboToyotas turbo kit that are supposed to be out the end of this month.

whats this IS350 mod you are talking about? its early early early in the morning... drawing a blank, lol. that linear throttle mod sounds interesting.

i really hope the xD turbotoyota kit is priced the same as the 2nd gen xB simple kit for like 2,800.

I haven't heard of KSport-- newer company? I'll check 'em out. I saw the lower arms you were talking about. I'll look into those as well.

We're looking to make a "weekend warrior", so we don't plan to hack too much off the interior. Just the simple spare/tools and minor items as such. I'll hit up Mike for a roll cage in the future. That'll be a future mod once we get our first few events under the belt, hahaha.

The IS350 mod is actually from TOM'S Racing Japan. It adjusts the throttle response from the accelerator pedal to the throttle body. Instead of a curved response as Toyota has designed. It doesn't add power, just increases the responsiveness.

We've only tested the units on the Lexus line thus far, and it's been great. There are 5 settings total. It automatically starts in OFF, so you just have to push a few buttons to enable it and set it at your prefered level.

"Off" - Duh
"Eco" - Improves throttle response slightly and retains fuel economy
"SP1" - Sport 1, this is the highest I'd recommend to use in the IS350 on the street. This improves it for great driveability, but isn't overkill.
"SP2", "SP3" - This will make it 1:1 in response, so it's only recommended for track/off-road use (or you can learn how to use it properly then use it daily).

The install is plug and play and takes minutes to do... I'll have a install demo on SL once I get the xD.

http://www.tomsracing.co.jp/e/arcive...9_2/index.html

Once we have some hard times (1/4 mile shave times, fuel economy data), we'll begin selling it =]

So far, the actual IS350 data with normal driving.
OFF - Baseline of 20-21 mpg average with my friend's driving habits
SP3 - We used this to see the most aggressive fuel mileage drop. We averaged 17-18 mpg when using it in SP3.

More info to come in the future =]

hmm, maybe this throttle mod will help the xDs laggy low end... if its a 'throttle response' problem and not a torque problem.

Yea, it's a throttle response issue. The torque is there, but Toyota made the throttle react in a "curve" instead of straightforwad. So the first bit you push the pedal, it's slowly reacting. Even if you floor it, it will open to WOT slowly-- it doesn't instantly do that. With this, it's about 1:1, so the throttle pedal at 10% would dictate a 10% opening on the throttle body and 100% floored would be WOT instantly.

It's more for track use than daily driving... but since the xD has less than half the power of the Lexus, SP3 may be just right =P

...so this could definately help out some 1/4 mile times. so this is not available yet? whats the price on this usually?

i would also just go custom for the exhaust. my 2.25" catback only cost me around 160 bucks + muffler. im sure youd be looking to pay $600+ for a catback, judging from the current prices for just axlebacks, heh. either way, that garden hose for an exhaust needs to be swapped out!

i dont think anyone has worked on this yet, or even looked into it, but a balance shaft removal/kit would be a little helpful as well.

I wonder if the IS350 Mod from Tom's would work with the tC, as I know I could use this!

Yes, the mod will work w/ the tC =P If you want to take the bottom panel of your dash off (just above the gas pedal), you can check the cable that connects to the gas pedal. Using that, I can figure out which kit is needed. There are only 3 kits used in Japan, so it should be the same here. So far, all the Lexus models are the same. The tC will likely use the type-2 (same as IS).

The item is only available via import atm. The retail price from TOM'S is $567.00.

I have two of the units (3 versions, same function, just different connectors) and the third unit is on order.

I'm more than happy to demo the unit if someone wants to come see me with their tC/xD/xB. I just have to see the connector first to ensure we have the one needed on-hand. Otherwise we'll have to wait 2 weeks for the last version to arrive.

I didn't read all the responses, but if you are going to go FI please don't waste your money on a supercharger. You will get a LOT more out of a turbo on these kinds of cars.

PS. Their is a serious lack of aftermarket support for these cars so far, really disappointing.

Jeffffff you need to let me know ASAP when Clazzio starts making seat covers for the xD!

Also Tanaba doesn't offer any sort of anti-sway bar at the moment. Only TRD offers the rear bar. The front struts from either company I think have been stopped since I haven't seen either sold. Then again I am not in the market for a strut bar

Get the Tanabe exhuast ConceptG so I can hear how it sounds. Then if you want to get something better I can have it if I like it

Got any ideas on the color you're going to do? I wish I had the backing to custom paint my xD but I don't. You lucky s.o.b.

lol! Turbocharger and supercharger have different uses. I would get a supercharger if it was easy enough to fabricate one that will fit (hard!). That would be ideal for our use. We don't care about peak power (that's sooooooooo when you're in your early 20s). Now that I'm 24, LOL, it's all about torque.

Chels--- hahaha. I know... once Clazzio starts the xD, I will have the new post as promised.

Ah, I thought Tanabe had something... I've always liked their braces. I'm counting on TOM'S to have something in the near future, but it's very unlikely.

I have the Concept G on my Supra (7M-GTE 3.0L). It sounds awesome. I would suggest it since most of the Tanabe exhausts sound the same =P I just haven't heard it on a small 1.8L before... but it's likely to be a good investment. I might end up w/ something from TRD though.

And for color... my partner and I are still thinking it over. We have our ideas, but nothing is set in stone yet.

And yea... we have no financial backing. We're just throwing a few bucks in each month (after our initial investment) to keep this thing going. We're hoping to set off a chain reaction that will spark some actual sponsorships (from our employer... LOL), but it's a long road ahead.

One step at a time, right?

Ill get a pic asap and post it, didnt think that it'd be almost 6 bills though, I might have to re-think it but I will still take a pic so you can see.

Yes but you have two of you throwing money at the car just not one!

I would go for a Tanabe ConceptG right now but that thing is $500! Thats a bit much for an axleback :?

I want leather+suede seats so bad after seeing a few tCs with it.

Yea, it's a bit steep for an axleback, but it's definitely a good one. Granted the performance gain is minute, if any, lol.

Granted it's 2 people throwing money at it, but I still have my 4Runner payment (I financed for 3 years... so yea... that explains it all) and my coworker has his Tacoma payment.

Volks just fell off my radar =]

Our car arrives next week (to my surprise), so we'll be bleeding out our bank accounts but it'll be worth it!

I'm not comparing max hp or torque, just the simple fact that a turbo will be faster, or rather that you would have the potential of a much faster car. yes you will have some turbo lag, but it will be WELL worth it when you are pulling 13's instead of 15's.

I know =P I was just messing around. I don't foresee much 1/4 mile activity for us, so it's not too huge of a deal. Responsiveness of the induction is more important, so a tiny turbo w/ superfast spool or a s/c would be ideal.

Oh, the excitement
