Ouch!
So last night i was detailing my recently road tripped xb2 (for three hours) when i noticed the center dome light was on. This is normal as i have it set to "Door" so it turns on when the door open; however, i was vacuuming and the doors were open for at least 30 minutes. I saw the light and turned it to "Off" but not before my hand grazed it and i felt a burning sensation. The plastic was actually HOT to the touch. One word, Lame.
If i go LED it will be cooler if not heatless right? Is there a better website than randode.com for led replacements?
Has anyone else noticed this?

Oznium has a pretty decent setup. From what I've heard, their superflux LED array tends to heat up and fail. I'd recommend getting their slim one. Just measure how large you can fit in there and do it!
I'm planning on doing that.

the dome light is not ment to be on for that long.. it's not "lame" it's physics.. that tiny light was not ment to be used for that long. if the doors are left open on the gen 1 for too long, the dome light shuts off automatically, i dunno if the gen 2's do that as well though. the bulb can handle the high heat, but the plastic cover was never intended to absorb that much heat for that long. make it a point to shut the dome light off when you detail, or pop the cover off, and put it in the dash cubby so you will see it later and re-install it when you are done.
