To start off, I am not complaining about the car, I understand that its a new model and it will not be perfect.

Now onto the problem. When I get to about 30 miles per hour and above, there is a whistling noise coming from the sunroof. If I close the shade it gets a little quieter, but I like driving with the shade open. Then when I do stop and get out of the car, and close the door, the sunroof goes up by approximately 1 centimeter (half an inch) and drops back down. There is also a problem with the sunshade. When I just bought the car, as soon as I would open the sunroof, the shade would just go back automatically, however now, it just moves 1/3 of the ay and I have to pull it the rest of the way manually (can someone please check theirs to confirm my theory). The first time I brought the car to the dealer, he wrote that he adjusted something. The second time he did the TSB and adjusted yet again. He wrote that he did not find a problem with the sunshade. Now, I have a strut coming in on December 22, which will be replaced. At time of service Im going to ask him again to take a look at it (for the third time). Do you guys have any suggestions as to what it may be, and how the hell do I get the dealer to address the issue properly? Thanks

PS this car is off the hook, I love it. The noise and the rims are the only problems. And they could both be fixed, so as I see it, this car is a great value and damn near perfect.

thats what i'll do when they get my strut, but they cant seem to address the issue properly. Everytime they write on the paper adjusted when in fact there is still that issue

Next time you visit the dealer go on a test drive with them to demonstrate the problem. If the person you ride with "doesn't hear it" get someone else to go along.

"Adjusting" might be the solution the first time but, with repeat problems, the dealer needs to dig in and get to the bottom of it under the assumption that they may see the issue on other cars.

I would go to another dealer. Its not normal because I dont have anything you described. My moonroof is absolutely quiet. Even though there is a known issue with the moonroofs, I have not yet experienceds it. I have another noise issue coming from the backdoor which I will bring to the dealer soon.

there's been a service bulletin out for a while on a sunroof noise.

it entails tightening a pair of screws. i'm not sure if it would solve your issue.

sunroofs have a lot of parts, like it's ridiculous compared to most things. so they are most likely adjusting it each time.

weather is a factor. temperature of parts affects how they rub and whistle and move etc etc.

if you _____ to a service manager, more than likely they will replace major components rather than tweak some stuff. cuz no dealer is trying to have an angry customer with a repeated problem.

if possible, i definetly back up going to a different dealer. take one of they're techs out for test drive so they can hear it.

my sunroof does the exact same thing at the exact same speeds. I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow.

Guys, dont go in for "the tsb". Go in and describe the problem. If the tsb did not fix it, it wont fix it the next time. But if you go in asking for the tsb, that is ALL they will do most times, so they arent even looking for other causes.

your going to have wind turbulence and sound resonance from your sunroof while driving. as for the sunroof automation feature, have the dealer reinitialize the sunroof.

I used to have the same problem, took it to the dealer and they took care of it, its been months and it hasnt come back.
