Hey, all I need some help...I have a Flint Mica tC.. I have been pondering tint colors for a while now. That is the reason why I haven't done it yet...Let me know if you have any ideas. I wouldn't mind that "mirror tint." But I am not sure if that would look too tacky!! Let me know and if you have pics of yours can you post'em as well.. Thanks much for your help....
I have 14% all around (minus the windshield) on my flint mica. They look great, but just a little too dark when looking from the outside. So far I have received 2 tickets for them, but I live in NY, and thats what they're looking out for right now. As for interior visibility, its hampered just a little, sometimes when I park in my garage, I have to put the window down to make sure I dont hit anything.
both $60. first one was at a checkpoint, I had my windows down, but they asked me to pull them up. The other time I was pulled over by an undercover Impala, and they also asked me to raise the windows. If I could do it all over again, I would probably go with 20, because the 35 I had on my previous car (millenia) were very light. Side note though - I asked my tint guy to give me 20% all around but he put 14%, which I didnt know about until my first ticket.
Hey IMO darker is definately better. I have limo all the way and 15% on the front windshield. I have no problems seeing, the only time like someone said is in garages but is is easily solved by putting the windows down. The cops by me could care less about tint, nver been stopped or ticketed. As for the reflective tint I would stay away, it looks really tacky and adds a "cheepy" look to a HOT car.

yes they do have a meter. They asked me to put the window up half way, and they put this square thing with a stripe in the middle (kind of like on a credit card machine) on the windows and it say the percentage.
what is the point of tint when it's 70%? i have 5%, the dark windows look really good. at night i find myself rolling my windows down or leaning towards the dash while i turn. never been pulled over for it or ticketed *fingers crossed* My 94 ranger had 13% tint for 7 years and never had a problem with it.
moral of the story is, get 5%. it looks sweet.

I got my SSM tinted... hate to sound like a doofus but I don't actually know what percentage they did. I told them the "max legal for texas". The back window kind of looks like they overdid it to me. I did not get the autodimming rearview mirror and I definately don't need it now. The back window is sloped enough that with the tinting it is very dark at night. Hope I don't get ticketed...
It takes some getting used to driving at night, but its nice for keeping the glare of a setting sun or other car's headlights to minimum.
The mirror finish tinting is illegal in some states, and it has to be done very well to look good anyway. Any imperfections are obvious with it.
