Anyone have pics of an xB with 18" Axid Mods with the Maxxis lip in the rear? I found one but it did not have the Maxxis lip on the rear.
Also, if I run the Maxxis lip in the rear, will the wheel be flush with the body? I'm not sure of the offset on the Mods, so if anyone with knowledge of these wheels wouldn't mind chiming in I would appreciate it.
Thanks.

No, It will not be flush since with maxxis lip option you are not getting any wider rim or lower offset, I think its still 18x7.5 +40 or +42, Sean

I beg to differ...
Nilo (Xbboy) is, in my book, king of Axis Wheels. I think I've seen...mmm...maybe 5 different styles on his white xB.
I'm not sure how old this photo is, but I happen to graze a frequent website of all of the import shows around the west coast, and came across a pic of his ride. In this pic, hes shown running a set of Axis Mods w/ the Maxis lip.
So it is possible. You might wanna holla at him, tell BigKid sent ya! :P
Very nice set-up I might add, I'm running the same wheels, but in a silver finish. He actually help me get the wheels too.

Yup Get the Hook ups from Nilo.. Mines is on its way to Hawaii.. Also I just got teh TRF kit the same one thats on his car.. He got the only set of TRF kit so far besides NIlos one and I have the second kit made.. But if you want Axis wheels make sure to hit him up Nilo of Scion Sport Tunning.. I believe that the 18s dont come in the maxius lip.. Only 19s.

Im running the same wheel as my brotha Nilo but in silver 19's baby and the all mighty maxis lip is super sweet !
i think i am definitely going with the mods, but not sure if i'm going to go 18's or 19's.
would 19's be bad on a daily driver? they look great, but i'm worried about the ride.
also, is the lip size larger on the 19's?

I got the very first set of 19' Axis 7Mods that were supposed to go to one of the owners of Axis Wheels. Since he went withthe big brake conversion he could not use them so I was lucky enough to get them 3 months prior to them selling the wheels.
I have used them for dailys for awhile and they ride good.
I used a 3mm space in the rear and that was pretty much it.
On 19's I would not recommend running the Maxxis lip though.
Beskone and a few SE members are also rolling on 18's and 19's 7Mods with Maxxis lip (on the rear)
PM me or xbboy if you are interested in a set. We also have some Pirelli tires to go with the wheels. Right now we have 19' for sale but we can get 18' as well.

Unfortunately, they didn't when I went to 'fit' them. Luckily Nilo, threw some in the box...
I don't know if its any different for the xB, but the 'boar' for the lug nut isn't very wide at all, in the rear. Question is, does anyone know why though?
tinybigrig
12-16-2004, 01:59 AM
ooh ooh i know the answer to that! the wheels came as blanks for the maxxis in the rear, meaning the had no hole for long nuts from the factory, bc they didnt know how many would sell of each size.....so they get sent out to drill to have the holes drilled....the hole size is slightly smaller than normal, and trying to run a 19mil luignut is tight, you need a very shallor walled socket, this could be avoided if you ran 17mil nuts, but they dont make 17mil in a low enough profile for the maxis lip :D
hope this helps

Umm..yeaaah...Brent...just realized that 19mm, won't work for me. The 'nutz' that Nilo sent with the wheels were 12mm on 1.5. I'll have to wait unit Friday, til the Snap-on guy comes by and empties everyones pocket book for his tools.
Btw: one other related question about these wheels. I noticed while threading the screw on the lug cap on, that both front wheels have a potential problem holding the cap in place. On the left side if your try an tighten down the screw, it will start to spin.
I took it off and just tried threading it with just the screw, this time, if you applied just alittle bit of force, you could literally push in the screw without threading it on?!?
..now this is beginning to happen with the right side now too. :(
I'm kinda scared to roll down the hwy...and see my center cap assembly rolling pass me on the frwy.
Anything to prevent this from happening?

i had to redrill and tap my f24 caps holes as well, just take a marker put it through the hole on the other side of the wheel, so that you spin the cap to the other sode, mark hole, redrill and tap, you dont even need to take the wheel off, should take ou about 5 min per wheel

No rubbin w/ a 2" trop. No need for OTS spacers, all you need is 5mm spacer for the rear. get the 35mm offset, but i would recommed the maxis lip for the rears, you'll like the set up much better. best of luck.
