View Full Version : iridium plugs ali_n1 12-11-2004, 07:52 PM who uses them? sciontc_mich 12-11-2004, 11:16 PM hey ali_n1.. the tC comes with iridium tipped spark plugs from the factory.. mD5 12-12-2004, 07:30 AM i have iridiums.. TakumiJr 12-13-2004, 03:37 PM Anyone know where I can buy some? I need to replace my spark plugs.. Thanks, sciontc_mich 12-14-2004, 09:36 AM hey takumijr.. have you tried the scion/toyota dealer? the sticker under the hood says NGK or Denso.. probably also be able to find that at a local auto parts store (or they could get them for ya).. TakumiJr 12-16-2004, 06:37 AM Yes I know I could get from the factory. I'm looking to see if there's like a better ones from denso, like higher heat range etc... sciontc_mich 12-16-2004, 10:06 AM yeah i hear you.. best bet would be to ask denso.. maybe a google search for their website? scionxb04 12-16-2004, 10:07 AM i use denso iridum plugs in my cars...there is none better hotbox05 12-16-2004, 07:03 PM yep. densos rocks. ngk is good for plug wires but not plugs. you can find iridium densos on ebay for pretty cheap. ( cheaper than just about any store) jdaniels 12-17-2004, 05:57 PM I don't believe any Scion uses Iridium tipped plugs from the factory... most are Denso, some for an odd reason are NGK but none are Iridium. Scott17 12-17-2004, 07:12 PM Many Toyotas come with irridium plugs. Toyota sources plugs from ND and NGK. Irridium plugs DO NOT increase performance, but they have a longer service life. Bam 12-17-2004, 07:37 PM The TC does come from the factory with Iridium tipped plugs. It is part of the no major service until 100,000 miles. sciontc_mich 12-18-2004, 03:07 AM i 2nd that.. just read the owner's manual.. it does come from the factory with iridium plugs.. jdaniels 12-18-2004, 05:13 AM Hmmm that's odd. The xA/xB/Vitz/Echo don't get Iridiums from the factory. But, it makes sense that they would use them, I mean... Denso is Toyota's company... why wouldn't they use their best technology? Scott17 12-18-2004, 02:16 PM It costs more. |
