Default tC in North California, 2 mos waiting, any thoughts?

I test drove a tC today in San Jose and have made up my mind. No doubt I am getting one!!!! I have a bad commute every morning so I am thinking abt a manual and i also live close to San Fran and manuals are not easy to drive on those hills. My heart wants a manual but the brain demands an auto. We will see who wins. i checked with a couple of places today and found out that i have to wait for 2 months to get mine!! If anybody in NorCal knows of any place that has a shorter waiting time, please let me know. I can also get everything leather from the dealer for 1575, i think that is a bit expensive. Any thoughts? Any good places to get it done around San Jose, CA?

ehm..i live on the bay area also..the wait time for me is about 1 month or so the dealer told me..the last time they called me, they say next week i am going to get my Tc..yay..lol..i went with walnut creek scion, anyway. i tried calling in the dealers around here and i think that the walnut creek guy seems the nicest, so i went with them..and i went with automatic..it is better in those hilly SF streets..so...yeah..good luck pal :D

I live in Sacramento and had to wait about 3 days. but then again I work for Toyota so they put me at the front of the list... hehe, i would check around the wait at my dealership is currently 2-3 weeks, but it also depends on what color and transmission you want. Good luck though

I had this option as well at first I thought no because I was 17 at the time of purchase (turned 18 a week later) and wanted to keep the price down. BUT, I opted for the leather and couldnt be happier, it feels so nice. I have a Flint Mica and the interior roof/pillars are a medium tan kind of color and the leather is all black with the middle of the seat and lower back perforated. Every time someone wants to see the inside of my car they always say 'wow leather?! this is so nice!'. So basically I highly reccomend the leather, I paid what you were quoted and am very happy with it. (just make sure its real and quality leather) I should have some pics soon so you can see what my factory leather looks like.

well...i just called around and was lucky enough that they had the one i wanted
i assume its more luck than actual strategy to get a scion

im sorry if a dissapointed you that i got is so quickly, but call around and many dealers are willing to get the car on truck or drive it out for you if its ok with the buyer if its at another dealership

i went friday night...car was ready washed and everything...even with a nice bow on the roof which i thought was extra nice and i drove away smiling :D

Here's my story,
I finally decided to do some serious research with local dealers here in so cal, specifically near Orange County.
I did a search for dealers who weren't shady and hooked up with Mark H. at Power Scion/Toyota in Irvine. I did not expect to make a purchase for at least two months. The car I want is an AP Auto w/side airbags and no other options (at least not for now and/or from the dealer).
To my amazement the vehicle was on a boat one day from port.
Today I went and put down my $100 to reserve the car. It is now in port and should be at the dealer within one week.

During my search I found that many dealers around here have the cars but with rediculous mods that aren't worth it from the dealer.
Today, at Tustin Scion, they had about six.
All with either ground effects, spoiler lips, bumper applique, or other options. They all have rims on them, that dealer wont sell them without, period.
Many other dealers around here are no better. I would begin by searching the local inventories via the Scion web page dealer find function. The dealers may not actually have the cars as shown but you can always call and check. I found my second choice, a SSM, one week ago, passed it up when i made the decision to wait for the AP.
Good luck. You will find what you want.
:D
