Thanks to NST for the DME parts and Dr Isotope for his valve cover trim plate. I just have to get a few things to the powdecoater asap (before VIP next weekend). And the battery brace helps me out two-fold. It looks awesome and I keep getting the evil eye for the (fairly weak) cf battery strap I have now from Dr Isotope (nice looking product, but not so pleasing to the tech inspection guys for autox).
Will go along with this:

O5_TRD_tC 07-31-2008, 09:47 PM what are the two smaller DME pieces?
tCtCtC 07-31-2008, 09:49 PM ^ they hold the panel in place i think
ack154 07-31-2008, 09:49 PM Radiator ties. A little better looking than the dirty, rusted OEM ones.
ack154 07-31-2008, 10:43 PM Going to the powdercoaters now to drop stuff off... can't wait!
I think this is going to be really different... but in a good way.

I have Fig Grilles, just installed new rotorpros.com 'dimpled and slotted' rotors and Axxis Ultimate pads. All I need
is the ScanGauge and SS lines (which I passed on BTW) and we could be brothers.
Good stuff fo' sho' man! Keep it up!
zer0myst 08-01-2008, 11:00 PM nice, safety cone orange!
definitely wanna see how that looks when its done.
ack154 08-01-2008, 11:05 PM It's a crazy color, but I think I have enough black to balance it out (doc's trim plate and radiator plate, intake, and heat shield).
I'm hoping it works out. :)
ack154 08-06-2008, 03:06 PM Still waiting to hear from the guy. May call this evening if I don't hear anything. I'll pretty much need to get it tomorrow to have time to get the stuff on before VIP this weekend.
HomelessGuy 08-06-2008, 03:10 PM love the saftey orange man! and did you get that valve cover from somewhere? or is it your stock one? wondering how much you paid if you bought it from somewhere. hope you get the stuff done by vip, cant wait for that.
ack154 08-06-2008, 03:13 PM Cover was from TRDSparks, brand new. Something like $172 shipped (close to that anyway). A bit pricey, but I wasn't going to be without my valve cover for any period of time. I plan on selling my current one once it's done to recoup some of the cost.

CarbonXe 08-06-2008, 03:20 PM Safety Orange = One bright ___ color. Nice choice :D
ack154 08-06-2008, 03:25 PM Haha, ya. He showed me an orange he had in stock and it was fluorescent... I was like "ya, I'm not looking for something that bright." This is a little darker than a couple I looked at. Then again, it might look TOTALLY different on the parts.
At least it will be different. :)
CarbonXe 08-06-2008, 03:36 PM Booo, you should have went with the brighter one lol. Safety Orange is supposed to be the brightest color to the human eye lol.
ack154 08-06-2008, 03:45 PM Just one of the most visible... not necessarily brightest.
Like the story of that Yellow trucking company that spent tons of money to find the most visible color:

CarbonXe 08-06-2008, 03:47 PM Err, yeah, that's what I meant lol.
ack154 08-06-2008, 08:35 PM Just got the call... parts are done!
Guess where I'm going after work!
ack154 08-06-2008, 10:29 PM I'm excited...
Here's a teaser... more to come when I'm done.

breaux_tC 08-07-2008, 06:38 AM very nice sir
props on doing a creative color
AcidDrop 08-07-2008, 06:47 AM
ichibansf 08-07-2008, 02:51 PM Nice! That color and red (like Doc Iso's) are the best choices I've seen. I'm not very familiar with engine work; did the new part from Sparks come with everything needed to bolt-on, like a gasket of some sort? Or did you use the old one? Was it pretty easy to do?
ack154 08-07-2008, 02:53 PM You use the old gasket (it's rubber and comes right out) and it is actually pretty simple. Easier if you don't have a strut bar in the way (or take it off) but I didn't feel like doing that bit of extra work, so it took me a tad longer. Even still not bad at all.
ichibansf 08-07-2008, 03:32 PM My DC Sports bar will prob need to be removed. Somehow I managed to squeeze the plastic cover off when I was putting in my intake. Thanks for the info Ack! Oh yah, you happen to have the part number??
ack154 08-07-2008, 03:47 PM Hmm... I did up until yesterday but deleted the PM. Just PM trdsparks and tell him what you want. He'll know.
