Default Turbo TC Question

Hey fellas, my tc is turbocharged with a JDM T3/T4 kit running 8 psi. Besides forged pistons, rods, and sleeves , what do I have to do to my block to get more boost??? Thanks to all who give advice.

depends on tune... you can get upwards of 10.5 w/ a good tuning setup... I'd get some more fuel on your side... pump, bigger injectors...

what all are you running now?

I foresee a flame war coming....

Known truth: There are no JDM parts for the tC (being that the tC was never sold in the Japanese Domestic Market, yes the tC is made in Japan, but that alone does not make it JDM. The car is made in Japan but is only sold in the USDM market (Our market))

JDM is the brand - and it's a popular one on eBay.

Yes I'm sure this is the kit he's referring to.

Now let's not dog on him just yet. I'm glad he's trying it out - I would love to see him succeed as some Honda guys have had good results with eBay turbos.

Jigga - our stock engines have been known to handle up to 14psi with a professionally well tuned ecu. Garabaldy (a forum member) is running 14psi with an AEM F/IC. PTuning is doing it also with Greddy's e-Manage Ultimate - and that's been track proven.

Just make sure you get a good tune (will cost some money) and you should be over 10psi on the stock engine.

building your motor will not get you more power...it will allow you to run more boost safely...that being said, many guys are running 9-12psi on the stock block, so you still have some room to go before a build if you wanted to...any dyno numbers? pics?

Nope no ******* here just curious how its holding up. Ive heard its about a 50/50 chance on if u get a great one or one that falls apart in a few days. Some of the honda guys have had great luck with them. it seems although however much people here hate on the honda community, they are a little more willing to try new things and see if things can be done diff ways. Anyways yea ive heard up to 10 psi on the stock block if its daily driver and you wanna be safe but like someone else said ive heard of people running 14 psi on stock block and not blowing it up YET

Those kits are pretty damn cheap. I wonder if you could just buy this and change out the snail to something more reputable like hks tnetics etc.

psi != power

If it were my car, id rip out the JDM parts and replace them with ADM (yes, american) like Dezod or Turbo Toyotas. Their kits will give you at least 50hp more than you "JDM" kit, and run much safer, and more reliable.

I don't think you can say this unless actually using the kit yourself.

Let's give it the benefit of the doubt... I would be happy if this guy got his kit working well for half the price.

There is a JDM Sports turbo kit. I bought it from www.tunerstyling.com, it comes with a intercooler, wastegate, piping, JDM bov, ect. I have the kit installed with 630cc injectors. Upgraded fuel pump wit stock pistons, sleeves, and rods. I choose to run 8psi only cuz I was hearing from two guys with turbo TC's who were running 10.5 psi and blew there motor in 3 months, I'm not really sure with what there driving habits were or if they were racing every night or what, but they definetly blew there engines, and I found out after I installed my kit. So I wanna take precaution and I thought I could upgrade my block or something. Also I'm sorry , but i don't have any pics yet cuz my digital camera is broke right now. Right now its not tuned yet cuz I been working alot so I drive my Evo right now.
