Default Which one? Supercharger or Turbocharger?

If you're thinking of adding one on later, which one? Supercharher or Turbocharger? There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

If the tC I ordered were my car, I would choose turbocharger. It would give me more options to optimize and tweak. I love DIYing. I would DIY the whole damn thing.

The tC I ordered is my wife's car though, so I think we'll go with a Supercharger for her ride. Reliable horsepower. You can still have a header. You can still tune it for even more power if you'de like.

im bettin 80% or so will say turbo, at first I was thinking the same thing, a little less HP but warranty if you go with the supercharger, BUT its a toyota.... a reliable engine, Im going to go with a turbo when it comes out and by the time I have a problem my 3 year warranty will already be up.

Hmm from what i can see the SC will only add 40hp or so. For $4500 thats a low gain. I'm sure we can get way bigger gains from a turbo kit then a SC. Yes there is always the better responce from the SC because of the turbo lag but heck I dont mind the more hp over all.

Depends on what your plans are for the car. If youre going for the power, take the "risk" and give it some turbo boost. If youre looking to keep it completely reliable and want the motor to last, then just supercharge it. If youre asking the average person, who knows something about both, they would say turbo charge it because you get more power ..... Really it all comes down to what you want to do with the car.

It will all be in the fun of modding.
