well i have been buying stuff for my xb like crazy and i was going to buy the megan racing springs on ebay for like $89 but a friend of mine was selling the hks springs for $200 i bought them last night he said they claim to be a 2.5" drop,

upon installing i put them on the back with ease adn had to stop for the front because i had to goto work which im going to goto here in about 30 mins. right before i dropped the car on its own wheels it was on the jack still and my dad goes "i dont think it will make a big difference" .... 3 2 1 ... "oh my god it looks like a pimp mobile" 8)

anyway heres the compairsion from the front (stock) and the back (hks springs)

alright guys !! i got the front put on, i decided to use the stock bump stops im not sure why anyway

i can DEFFENTLY tell a difference in ride quality, i guess the lower you go the more bumps your going to feel.

oh well though its not enough to make me want my stock suspenion back,

im going out now to take pix.

ALSO, my rims and tires should be in next week, !!!! 8) 8) 8)

Aren't you supposed to cut the bumpstops?

smokyXB

the hks springs say 2.2 in the rear 2.1 in the front, but i think also the springs must set , maybe

You got that right. It will start to look like the old Toyota 4Runner with a droopy @$$

I think it's just because the fronts are fresh while the rears are a day or two old (aren't they?). Let the front settle a bit then take pics again. If it levels out, I'd say that's the best looking drop on springs alone yet. 8) However, if the backside stays lower, I'd say put 'em on ebay. Either that or get some mad camber plates back there and roll around O.G. style

I just googled "hks springs scion xb" and the fifth or sixth result was the HKS outlet store. :? Anyways from the pics it looks like new bumpstops are supposed to come with the springs. Well, that is assuming the picture correlates to the actual application.

maybe thats why the rear sits lower? i DO have subs and a amp back there. im going to take them out and see if it makes a difference.

these are also not black springs, they are white authentic hks springs. the spring has the hks logo on it, and is in a authentic hks box with its own bump stops. the hks box comes with instructions, but it doesnt do you much good if your not japanese

well i guess i am going to just have to do it then. when i pull the springs off ill take a picture of what my springs look like. im also going to put on a strut tower brace. i was also thinking maybe new shocks depending on how much they are.

I just put the HKS super form (for xB) on my echo. They've got a great drop. Little more than 2". Didn't use the new bump stops that were with them ( till new shocks come) but I thought someone might like a pic. Here's one of the front ones I cut:

He may be sitting on the bumpstops which would hold the front end up...???

hotbox05
12-23-2004, 11:12 PM
yup. the bumpstops are sturdy enough to hold it up once they are squeezed between the top hat and the bottom perch. with a 2.25 or a 2.5 inch drop you would be surprised how little shock travel is left up front. it is a very minuscle amount
