my project: the toolbox, i am a tool freak and i know we all like to modify our rides, and we do not always have the tools we need at that time we need them, so my project is to make a mobile toolbox out of a scion xb. i will convert the back of the trunkspace floor into a usable space to put tools, but i need your help, besides all the normal tools I.E.- ratchets, screwdrivers,hammers,ect... What do you all find your self needing the most, when you do not have it. Or what tool would you like to see put in, please only serious tools, i cannot put a jackhammer in a scion, please.only tools that can be used on automobiles.
i am also upgrading the exterior and interior, as well as the engine(need extra power for the added weight.)

Floor jack is a really good one. Even better would be to find a lightweight one and/or one that sits low enough to get under a stock or semi-lowered xB. Then build a secure custom-fit storage unit in the rear of the xB for the floor jack (if it was professionally made, fits snug, and looks good you could probably sell that to alot of scion owners, not just ones who need to carry toolboxes with them; i would be interested).

http://newscionparts.com/html/jdmpartsxB.html check out the hard lugauge tray, i think it would be perfect for the regular tools, put some hard foam in there and cut out the tool shapes so they do not move while driving, that way every tool has it's home. what do you think?

I think you always need a nice amount of WD-40 and anti seaze

if you are going to install a compressor, get an angine driven one. This way your battery wont run down, and you will have air on demand!
and you better paint that sucker snap-on red!

If not a compressor then 12VDC and/or 110VAC power outlets with a voltmeter and/or ammeter to help save your poor battery, And a small workbench that folds up into the cargo floor. And maybe a work light built into the rear hatch. And ... and ... :D

I think you always need a nice amount of WD-40 and anti seaze i think a can of wd-40 and carb cleaner would be a good idea, any other items you would like to see? this is not just for me, i have been in clubs and gone to meetings where we end up doing something mechanical and don't have the right tools, so i want it to be when i show up to a meet or show, everyone knows"hey you need a tool, see that guy, he has all the tools you will need!" you know what i am saying?

o.k. some of these ideas are very good, and some are just plain funny, my real name is not Jesse James, so it will not be a rolling garage! i want it to be a moblie toolbox, not a "come get your free leds and speakerwire from this guy " i will put in what i can without ruining the vehicle, i need it to look clean, i want it to look a certain way so when you see it, it will surprise the crap out of you, And yes putting in a tablesaw will surprise the crap out of you but i do not want THAT look.
