I am in the market for new wheels, but until I find something I like with the correct offset I need to get some spacers for my current wheels. They look terrible.

I'm trying to cut a corner of having to extend the studs, and am looking at these 10mm spacers

I guess my question is can the stock studs still allow the lug to be tightened with a 10mm spacer?

I woudln't cheap out on spacers from ebay. Go with the h&r or Ichiba spacers.

There's no way you'll have enough threads to keep the lugs on tightly without changing out the oem studs with extended ones. Not to mention it will be extremely dangerous to do so.

 

I figured but wanted a second opinion. Thanks for the reply. A plate of aluminum is a plate of aluminum IMO, I wanted to use it as a shim if possible. I wouldn't trust an actual ebay spacer.

Going to get some ichibas after I find out if my wheels will accommodate them.

stock wheel studs are SHORT and will not accommodate spacers of any size...

 

you would be stupid and suicidal to run spacers w/o extended studs!

 

lol I was just curious basically if our stock studs were long enough to accommodate 10mm spacers.

I'm sure once I bought them and took my wheel off, put it back on after installing the spacer, I would've said HMMM.. should I run these with the lug only going on half a turn? Nay.

I like the hassel-free approach with the spacers that already have studs built in, just take off the wheel and bolt on the spacer then bolt on the wheel but they only come in 25mm from what I see. Thats way big for what I need.


When I did my Stop-tech rotors I said to myself "Time for spacers is now, now or never" I said i'd do it later on. Welp, don't feel like doing that all over again until I get a BBK so i'm trying to take the easy way out. Not looking like I have a choice though.

 

Actually if you get the Ichiba Version 2's they all come with studs built into the spacer so you just bolt it to your oem ones and use the ones that are in the spacer to put your wheel on.

Ichiba version 2's start at 15mm and go up to 25mm.

 

yea but what you dont think of with those is that you need holes in the back of your wheels that are a specific size for the stock studs with the bolts for the spacers to fit inside of the wheels from behind. the only spacers with built in studs that work for all wheels are 25mm and up.

 

stock wheel studs are too short to begin with IMO
