I'm way too chicken to try this out. Is it possible to do it without seriously messing up your car?

Ali and I were thinking about doing a rally driving or drifting school for a few days vacation! How much fun would that be?

lol

find a parking lot.

take a turn kinda fast, pull up ebrake.

worst that will happen is a little extra rear tire wear and you do a 180

i did it in an xb about 30 miles it was raining and it slide inbetwen a 90 and 180 degree turn i wanted to go faster but in the distance was oncoming traffic

damn. I'd always wondered if something would snap off if you pulled it that fast.

never been much of a stunt driver, although I'm dying to learn.

NO, NO, do it on DRY pavement...... Can you say "Flat spot your tires?" I new you could.....

Unless you are a rally driver using your ebrake to kick the back around a tight corner in the woods somewhere..... What's the point??

I'm a bit curious as well if the Stability Control system in the xB will void out an e-brake turn.

We had snow-covered roads up here last week, and I made good use of the e-brake on our Infiniti G20 (in a safe manner of course). This CAN help pull you out of terminal understeer on the slippy stuff, but it's also just plain fun :D and good practice for our local SCCA RallyCross events! One can never be truly safe in a car unless you occasionally explore its limits on a loose surface.

.....At least this is the excuse I give my wife for behaving like a hooligan in snow!

I'd really like to see how the xB is on snow & ice..... can't wait to have it shipped up here to WA next week!

no you won't flatspot street tires!

there is no point usually, its just for fun =)

the xA will handle a brake and skid, although the length of the car makes it a short skid, so go faster if you try it.

the xB just won't do it. traction control kills it, even with it turned off the VSC will kick in as soon as you try it. :) couldn't get it to work

E-Brake turns work just fine!
I've done it in the wet, and dry...

Approach a turn quickly, but not to fast.
Tap the brakes (weight transfer)
Turn the wheel, and pull the E-Brake...

Lots of fun, and not to dangerous.
Works better in the wet, but dry is fine too.

Last year I did that in my Prelude in the snow. 25mph down my street. Slid sideways into my parking spot heheh. Easier than parallel parking. Although, it does stress the E-brake AND causes girlfriends to not want to ride with you in snowy conditions... My E-brake failed this summer. $435/ea for new rear calipers (little e-brake part no longer engaged/disengaged). :(

My buddy did it in his mint 84 Civic (40k miles) the other night. We had a big patch of ice in the parking lot at work... he just gunned it. Hit the ice, pulled the ebrake and snapped the wheel sideways. We were like crazy sideways sliding.

I would either say... do it while it's under warranty or don't do it at all. If your tires aren't properly inflated or you do something wrong you can roll a sidewall and flip your car or damage your wheels/suspension/brakes. If they find out what you're doing though... your warranty would probably aready be voided... (can't wait to see if the tC will do it though) ;)

just put a plastic fast food tray under each rear wheel, set the brake and drive around. :D

if you are an amateur driver...DO NOT TRY THIS...I REPEAT...DO NOT TRY THIS. with little knowledge about this, you will fux0r something up. i'm only 18 but i've been drifting for 2 years. my friend dave broke a control arm on a civic hatchback. you might break something...but if you are gonna attempt this...try it with an EVO...on the highway..whilst going back wards...hahahaha... but n e wayz....u could try using crates...

rriight.....sorry speed racer.....

aslong as your not going like 60 miles an hour when u lift your e brake u shouldnt have any problems.....and btw make sure there are no cars or poles nearby (duh)

go about 30-35 on second gear.. slight turn ur steering wheel to the left and turn to the right hard (or as needed) as you lift the ebrake......start slow and small and ull slowly get the hang of it.

hmm/..its raining right now.....later

Used to do this in my Rav4 all the time, and my Suzuki Sidekick, and Samurai before that. (It was terrifying in the Samurai.)

Yes, you can drift in an xA. Its fun.
