it depends. a lot of people just piece together a kit, but have problems with alignments of charge pipes, manifolds, intake pipes, etc

...?

no kit is pretuned. custom or not you need to get your piggyback or standalone tuned

i would imagine that piecing is together would be more expensive. thats why i like kits because, for example the turbonetics kit, has everything you could possibly need to install it. and if you want, like if you went through Dezod, which i recommend, you can kinda piece one together on there, like get the S1 kit and modify it, like add a bigger turbo, or different BOV, and whatnot.

dezod all the way.

unless you've been dealing with turbo sh*t for a long time i suggest a newer person to F/I goes with a kit. IMO

well no turbo part for the tC is going to be oem because theres nothing OEM about turboeing a tC.

I know a good amount about turboeing a tC and what not I would definitely recommend going with a kit and if you want customization options...

go with Dezod.com

and if you buy a kit you can always add a little something here and there to make it a little better. a kit is a really good way to get you on your feet and you can run anywhere from there!

idk if this would be a problem or not but i would first check if there is anybody over there in germany that would be able to tune your car for you.

only reason i can think of to do a custom kit, is if you would save tons of money, like geting hookups from friends or getting good deals on certain parts!

After a lot of researching, I decided to go with Turbonetics for my own reasons. You need to start researching for yourself and figure out which kit is good for you.

If you find out that there's just a little something about each kit that you don't like, you may want to go custom. Just understand that when you go custom, there will be more down time because you'll have to have stuff fabricated for you.

Whatever you do, make sure you get a system with a good management system and make sure you have a good tuner around your area.

Turbonetics? Yikes. Even with the warranty, it's not worth it.

Waiting for warranty replacement turbos while your car sits in the garage FTL.

That is your particular conclusion based on very little research on it. But thanks for contributing.

From what I've heard about the Tnetics kit, they usually blow the seals at the strip. And I haven't heard anything about them in about 2 years, so to you for trying to prove all the skeptics wrong.

To be brutally honest to the OP, if you don't know which would be better, I don't think you should be considering going custom. Stick with a bolt on kit.

Yeah - I would have agreed a few years ago.. that was before Tnetics had resolved the issues. There are other Tnetics owners with the "old" kit and got replacement turbos with the new wet center-housing and they're running fine - no blown seals.

The kit I purchased already comes with the new turbo - so I'm good. I don't have any doubts this kit is going to be wonderful in terms of fitment, production, and practicality.

I'm getting anxious.. can't wait.

Your wrong. Turbonetics warranty is the best out there. They cover your motor, transmission, and turbo kit for the factory power train warranty period. It doesnt get any better than that. End of story.

Good luck, you know what you're doing, so I know you'll actually do everything the right way and avoid shortcuts.

Welcome to the last 4 months of my life. Still waiting on Todd, but for good reason. Has NOTHING to do with the typical "OMG TT IS SCAMMING ME" .

I can't wait to see you up and running too..

The more boosted Scions the better for us in the long run. Our parts will get cheaper and there will be more support for everyone.
